Does your boss call you names?

What kind of stupid things are you doing for him to call you these things? Could be entirely justified by your actions, honestly.

Those kinds of names are very common in the trades. Construction sites or working in a warehouse. I've been called every name in the book. Although ignorant as fuck, it has never come from a place where that person was saying it because they wanted to hurt me or something. Unfortunately that type of work you get people who talk like this and think its normal. I'd imagine OP seeing as this is his first job may be working in a warehouse order picking or something.

He said he has a white collar job...

Those are not nicknames, those are insults.

Like others said, don't take his shit, there's no job worthy of that (if you face him correctly you shouldn't have to lose your job but actually receive some respect so go and talk to him).

Yeah this is completely acceptable in the trades imo. White collar's another story.

Yeah, I worked a production job where I was basically the only employee outside of management working there. The lead called me an arrogant prick and lazy and stuff like that. I walked out of that job after about 6 months of being payed minimum wage with no chance of ever moving up.

My current job is much better. I work with a lot of women. My lead calls me pumpkin and I'm really well liked by most of the staff.

One of my older supervisors told me that the nicknames the higher-ups had for me was "Columbine Shooter" and "That Long-Haired Gay".

I don't work there anymore.

Yep, "numbnuts, MF, asshole" are just some of the words I get called. Sometimes I call him by those names as well but he doesn't take it seriously.

Yeah I work in a very fucking unprofessional environment. But after 4 years of business school and heavy fake culture of political correctness, I don't mind it one bit.

Starting to feel sorry for OP, it's his first job and newbies don't know or have the experience to handle it. Def not cool though.
Now that I think about it I have two occasions of a superior blowing up. I have been doing odd jobs and stuff since I was 12, and when I was around 13-14 I was a dishwasher starting out, man you have to be fast the dishes pile up in a hurry. So I got kinda behind and one of the waitress comes to the back screaming, not at me just in general and obviously it was about me. I can't use these dishes they are still dirty!!!" So kinda a grey area and I got quicker after that haha. Another time I was about 17-18 unloading trucks at Walmart. The supervior was a jerk and everybody hated. We were unloading the trucks, I dunno what they have now but our belts to unload were metal rings where you push the boxes manually and it forgot what I did, he was having a bad and he straight up yells at me (the youngest guy on the crew) "what the hell, are you a moron?!" Everybody heard him and are staring at him at this point, like wtf? And I was pissed but did not say anything just glared and walked off. Someone must have reported him cos like the next day he was bumped off his supervisor role. When I saw him I just ignored him and said "don't talk to me". That was it. I think after a while he quit too. Then there is the gas field and working at a garage but those come wth the terrority. Was always playful and I only worked those places in the summer.

I regularly get called stupid, a moron, an idiot, and a retard, among other things. He also calls me a little girl sometimes.

This is my first job, so I'm not really sure how people generally deal with this sort of thing. Do I just ignore him? Do I insult him back? Do I break into the classic song-and-dance about "sticks and stones?"

Used to get stuff like that in construction occasionally. If I was legitmately fucking something up, I'd get called a retard. Struggling to pick up something heavy on a job site? I wouldn't blink at being called a little girl. It was never malicious, though. Whoever it was would go on to help and/or correct whatever the problem was.

Had a boss semi-like that for a few years. She was just a manipulative cunt that used me to make herself look better.

If there's anyone to go to, like HR, then do it.

You don't have to take that kind of treatment from anyone. Nobody. It's totally unacceptable inside or outside of a job.

In some states and countries it's against the law to treat employees like that. It's certainly against the rules of any company that's worth working for. Your boss works on behalf of the company and behaving in such away can get them into trouble.
