At first I thought it was just a random coincidence, afterall, it wouldn't have been the first time Bee Train would have used the exact same style more than once (madlax +hack anyone?)

Or maybe it's just because I dind't have the names, because back when I watched some CCS, it was the french subbed version (dont worry, it was still 1000 years ahead of the horrid english US version) and only Sakura was still named Sakura... And that Sakura looked too old to be the Sakura from CCS (been 2+ years since I've watched any, so I dont know if they made the character age).

But there were just too damn many resemblences for it to be a coincidence, and in a forum thread god knows where, I read a mention that yes it did use characters from another (or more?) serie(s?), so I checked, good thing I had once heard Sakura's last name from CCS, wich was the original japanese name in the 1st french season before being changed to a more francophone-friendly name later on (kinomoto was changed to Gauthier if I remember right, talk about useless memory, remembering "Kinomoto" from one or two mentions in the show like... 4+ years ago), wich simplified the search a lot.

I now feel dumb for not spotting the characters without help :\ I feel like my anime fandom is so shallow now

Didn't you notice Sorata and Arashi from X? I didn't notice Sakura cos I never saw CC but I guess they do look similar

Bah, that just means you can quit if you want to. I hear all the time that "that's the viocechar from that series", and it's only until after I realize. Actually, the only time I've figured out who a certain viocechar was was in the simpsons. Sideshow Bob == Frasier. *Proud*

I actually spot voice actors more often than my pride would want me to, even if I never pick up on them intentionally

What actually tiped me off on CCS wasn't Sakura but Tomoyo, wich was called Tiffany Daidoji in french. Oh and Sakura's Brother and his friend were hard to miss, but again I had to go by faces only since in french her brother was called Thomas and his friend, Matthieu.

Wait, you think CCS and Tsubasa have the same characters because Bee Train is involved? You do know that uh... CLAMP created Card Captor Sakura and Tsubasa Chronicle, right? Bee Train's just producing the anime.

No. I didn't think bee train was the "because" of the situation, but it was a hint, becuase I had seen them recycle designs in the past (not integral character rips, but damn if the madlax and hack designs aren't exact fits). If it had been another studio, maybe I would have just went "WTF?" and left it at that, but since I knew in the back of my head that I had seen those characters before, I ended up having to look it up.

By the way, get that frog out of your avatar, that shit sucked so much I couldn't even watch half of an episode.

PS: I dont really look at what studio does what, most of the time I only check if Kajiura of Kanno are doing the music.
