Dolphin - Emulating Wii and Gamecube Games

Hmm that's tricky, disassembling it could be a problem if you got downloaded games/save data on there. Perhaps tweezers could work, since they're not sharp.

Well, I might not have too. Turns out when I loading the game up after my first time playing it, everything ran normally for some odd reason.

Anybody get Teen Titans (GC) to work well on this? Mine crashes during the tutorial, despite being reported as fully playable. I wonder if I'm missing something.

Does the f9 screencap function not take the screenshots at internal resolution like f8 does for pcsx2? My shots only come out as large as my monitor screen.

So I was playing Resident Evil remake until I got the helmet key, and then the framerate tanked. We're talking like 20 FPS. No idea why it would have tanked. It won't come up above 20 fps but shoots up to 60 fps during the door sequences. Is this a known bug?

The framerate tanking is usually from animated backgrounds. Do the rooms you're in feature animated backgrounds, like waving lights or fans casting shadows or something?

So I've downloaded the most recent version of dolphin and it seems to be running SMG2 much worse than version 4.0.2. Anyone here able to run the game without any issues? What are your settings if so?

Can anyone recommend a good USB adapter that works with Wavebird? I have some generic adapter I bought years ago and it works with the wired controller, but not with the Wavebird adapter. Years ago this was a problem and no adapters worked with the Wavebird, but I'm hoping it's improved. I've heard some say this this one from Mayflash does (http://www.mayflash.com/Products/PCUSB/PC051.html), but has anyone tried it? Or had another adapter that worked?

I have that adapter and can confirm that it works with WaveBird controllers.

I'm currently playing through Xenoblade on Dolphin with a 360 controller. I keep getting "Communications with the Wii Remote have been interrupted" whenever I'm away from the computer for more than 5 minutes. This is of course normal, but the problem is that I can never get the message to go away. It's not taking input from the 360 controller once that screen comes up. I don't know any way to get past it without exiting out and reloading. Any ideas on how to get past this screen when it happens?

Press Alt+F5 to "reconnect."

Make sure you're using HLE, and experiment with OGL if you haven't already.

Hello again. Seems I'm having a problem with Skyward Sword again. This time it seems to crash everytime I try and enter the Silent Realm Trials. I thought it was suppose to be fixed since it said it was on the wiki.

Are you using the stable build of Dolphin or a later development build? If you're on stable (i.e. 4.0.2) the issue won't have been fixed yet as that bug was fixed later on. If you're using an updated development build I have no idea what the problem is then.

Yeah I'm using the stable version. I guess I misunderstood how to tell the difference between version. Thought 4.0-1192 meant it was fixed before 4.0.2. Guess I'll download the dev one then. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Good lord does the game run even better than before with the Dev build :O

I generally just stay up on the development builds because overall they've been fantastic. Totally stable, and most games run really well.

There's actually a build out right now that has exclusive fullscreen support, which should universally help games run even smoother and more effeciently. It also allows 3D vision support.

Is it up on the list of downloads or do I have to find it?

So finally got SMG2 audio to work (thanks for the suggestions everyone) but now I'm plagued with slowdowns. So before I run myself ragged trying to find the solution, is it at all possible to play the game as close to perfect as possible, or am I to expect little not so perfect things such as slowdowns and other small bugs?

loved the dolphin update blog, just enjoy the details so much I noticed that dolphin runs incredible on my AMD setup now, so glad that got fixed!

SMG2 seems to work pretty flawlessly for me, with default dolphin settings + changes on the wiki. though i haven't played through the whole game to know if any certain parts are bad. but from the little i've tried, it's definitely possible for the game to run smoothly.

It would help if you told us your specs

SMG2 requires a pretty high-end processor. I have a 2600K and I get small slowdowns (usually no worse than 50-55 fps) fairly frequently at stock speed. It's annoying but not a game-breaker for me. Overclocking helps but it also causes my processor to overheat so I don't bother any more.

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor
Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB
Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB Tri-X Video Card
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit)

Actually, since my last post I messed around with the settings and managed to get consistent fps. Still chugs at certain spots, but it's A LOT better.

Two quick questions:

  1. What do I have to do to enable exclusive fullscreen, besides enabling the basic fullscreen option?
  2. If I create desktop shortcuts to specific games, is there any way I can make them use a specific controller configuration automatically?
For example, I'd like to get Twilight Princess to load a controller profile called "TwilightPrincess" that enables the emulated Nunchuck, while Xenoblade loads the profile "Xenoblade" that has an emulated Classic Controller. I know there is something I can do to the config file of each game to make it work as I intend, but I really wouldn't know how exactly.

Can anyone help me with the 360 pad wiimote configuration for No More Heroes 2, without having to use a nunchuck?

I'm stuck on this part with none of my button presses doing anything:

ibb5PI4A1xH4bv.png

This is my current 360 pad wiimote button settings.

I can get by the actual fight just fine when that blue icon also shows up during the middle of a combo, and I just press the top right button on the 360 pad and it works. But it's not doing anything during this actual scene. I've also tried applying the right trigger button for the Swing and Tilt options but it doesn't do anything either.

I think with NMH2 you can just use the Classic Controller so if you set it up that way it's just analogue stick inputs.

Might be getting it mixed up with the NMH1 HD ports though because it's been a while since I played through NMH2.

If you use D3D mode Exclusive Fullscreen is the default. There is an option in the final graphics tab to enable borderless fullscreen.

I'm an idiot. That did it, thanks!

Thanks! I imagined as much, though I wanted some confirmation.

Anyone has any idea on how I can get the shortcuts to work with specific controller configurations?

I'm having some issues with the most recent releases, so some help would be appreciated.
Apparently i can't make the emulator work with the usual upgrade, I need a clean installation.
Now... If I want to reset every single setting except for keeping my old saves (both for Wii and NGC), what folders are the bare minimum I need to keep?

What wireless sensor bar do y'all recommend?

Why not use a USB sensor bar? They are cheap on eBay and do the job as fine as a normal sensor bar (since all a sensor bar is two IR sources at a distance from each other). Two LEDS should work fine to. Wireless sensor bars will suck too many batteries, and drive up cost for you. I used a USB sensor bar on my Wii when my sensor bar port didn't work. Worked perfectly.

Keep

Code:
C:\Users\Alo\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Wii\title

and

Code:
C:\Users\Alo\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\GC

If you want to save controller configurations as well, keep

Code:
C:\Users\Alo\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Config\Profiles

I use batch files to copy my saved configurations from a folder I have into the Dolphin config folder at start up, then launch the game through command line. This lets me turn GCN and Wii games into single icons I can click to launch with everything set up correctly. Then I use a program like batch2exe to convert the batch file into an executable and add them as stand alone games into Steam's BPM. It's slick as hell doing it that way.

USB... Did nort realize that option existed, thanks. Ordered from amazon.

Now I am trying to put my NAND on my pc, ripped but not displaying in dolphin. Any ideas there? I am new to dolphin and just getting the hang of things.

Those things exist??? Man, I've been wasting money on batteries for this wireless sensor bar I got :(
Do they sell just the cord it self? If they do, I could just buy that and use it with the wireless bar I got.

Sorry, I'm not sure, but you could somehow do a DIY job of that yourself if you think its worth the risk with some soldering and etc.

Wow I also didn't know there were USB sensor bars, definitely getting on that!

I think the only downside is maybe a slightly weaker range (someone could test that?). For UK GAF , it was hard to find one on Amazon so I bought this one on eBay instead.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-1pcs-...me_Motion_Sensors_Cameras&hash=item51c1387b2e

It does exactly what it says on the tin.

.

Well the sensor bar I got is that Ultra sensor bar from Gamestop which uses a detachable power cord if you want to use batteries which is why I asked. I'll keep looking to see if I can find one that I might be able to use with it.

I have one and it's quite handy. It's always plugged on my PC and it's next to my TV so it does the job for both dolphin and the Wii U.

EDIT: I just unwrapped an imported copy of Project Zero 2 I got last week, currently ripping it and I'll try it later tonight.

Never played a Fatal Frame game before, it will be my first time ever.
