This is cool and I'm glad Nintendo is putting in the effort to update these games. However, I'd rather they put any extra resources towards adding more retro games to Nintendo Switch Online and improving the emulation.

Make sure I'm not misunderstanding, the update is free. You don't get an actual copy of DKRHD for free.

Neat.

Edit: Dafuq, I thought it came out for S2. Forgot it was a S1 title. So when I saw it as an update, was confused. So this is indeed neat.

3rd version of the game sold for full price. I guess even Nintendo buckled on charging for this one. Nice bonus though for people who got it.

Already a thread for this.
This news is huge! We need like 5 more thread bruh. This was the first one that popped up for me.

Edit: To actually add to dicussion.

I wonder if Panic Button worked on this upgrade as well. If so thanks to them or whoever made this available.

If the Xenoblade trilogy gets Switch 2 upgrades (Especially 2), that news alone would justify my Switch 2 purchase. I'm pretty easy to please. Everything else after, new games and upgrades alike is considered a bonus for me.
Seriously this. Xenoblade 2 needs an update the most and I've been wanting to replay it but I keep waiting for an update. I'm sure we'll get one.. eventually..

I did this in reverse and I wouldn't recommend it lol

This is perfect for me. As much as I LIKE Bananza (I'm not sure I love it but I do like quite a bit about it), I love the Retro DKC games and as impressive Bananza is in the way it pays to tribute to so much about the Donkey Kong franchise, I think Retro crafted something better with Returns and Tropical Freeze. I can't wait for the next 2D DK adventure. I'm hoping it's a Country game.

Yeah no thanks. Keep the Switch updates coming.

They all need that update desperately.

I just hope they also do Luigis Mansion 3 one day, that game would look absolutely glorious in 4k/60fps.

Apparently they also finally fixed some of the weird visual glitches that were unique to this version of the game too, like Donkey Kong's missing arm texture in the intro and the missing sun in the background of one level.

NIce to see this is finally the undisputed best version of the game.

Don't forget X. I bought X knowing full well I was going to hold off playing it until Switch 2 came out. I mean, people found the 60 fps code right away, so it was ready to go, right? 10 months later, and it's still in the factory wrapping.

*Disclaimer - I did play the original version on WiiU, but I really want those Switch 2 theoretical upgrades.

Yeah no thanks. Virtual console please

Maybe I should finish Tropical Freeze. I had forgotten I even owned it. I think I paused as the controls feel so wishy-washy, especially compared to the SNES games.

Yeah boy! As Dixie Kong's biggest fan, I whole heartedly approve!
I love when Nintendo does things like this. There is a lot coming Dixie's way. Don't be shocked when she ends up in Smash.

This time for sure!

Does this mean we can safely sell our Wii copies?

Also have they released an update for Tropical Freeze yet?

Took them over a year to fix these basic bugs. But at least they actually finally did it.

Crap like DK not having fur if you didnt play with diddy Kong too, the co-op bouncing on enemy issues and missing visual effects should have been fixed 2 weeks after launch lol.
