My uncle(lives in the next state over) had this car(it's a Dodge something, I forget) for a while; I mean, maybe 12 or so years I think. Every time I went to visit him, he's had it parked right in his driveway in the same spot. I don't even think he's moved the car since the late 1980's. I believe he's only been washing and waxing it occasionally.
My brother wanted to buy the car from him. He's alreay got two cars, but he's one of those jokers who likes tinkering around with cars. He pratically lives at autoshows. Anyway, my uncle told him that the car ran fine and he even took let him test drive it around the block a few times. The car was in seemingly good working condition. They couldn't settle on a price so he didn't drive it home that day, but like two weeks later I think they settled on the amount of $450.
OK, so long story short, after work, my brother went and cut my uncle a check $450. He got in the car and was heading home. He got the car onto the highway and just as he clocked a little over 10 miles with the car, *BOOM!* -- the thing blows up! (Well, not an explosion, but a fire) No, he didn't get hurt though.
Fast forward to today, it's been about 6 months since this happened and my uncle still refuses to pay him back the $450. Usually everyone gets together at my parent's house on christmas, including my uncle, but this year my dad told him just not to come because my brother was going to be there and knowing my brother, it would probably come to blows.
Yep. A sad story, but I still find it a bit funny though. The car was sitting there for years all that time. He eventually buys it, drives it not more than ten miles, then it blows up. I laughed for a good 15 minutes when I first found out. :lol
Sad though. =(
But yet incedibly funny! :lol
