There are some mmr bugs going on right now. Duoed with a friend on my smurf and it gave the points to our seperate solo queue mmrs though I don't think only getting +8 mmr was a bug

Checked /r/dota by new and multiple parties are getting the same thing.

Assuming there's another support is bold, but Lion, slAAy, Ogre, WD, Lich, CM, Venge, and Treant are easy enough to play and work great with support buddies.

Stuff like earth fearit and why?vern and kotl are great but require a lot of positioning finesse
