I thought allies couldnt deny cogs until a recent patch but i guess i was wrong as i can't find it in his changelog.
None of the people i stack with had ever seen this before and we have close to 8k hours combined.

Is it worth it to ignore the runes to max out SF's souls?

It was done during the TI6 wildcards by I think CoL or Execration and it lost. Having the extra damage is certainly worth it.

So you can actually get close to the max (18 souls) from the start of the game.

Our SF managed to get 9 and still got to mid with time to spare. But i did deny some myself because i didnt understand what was happening.
I thought we were farming denies to pad our stats...

Yeah, story and characters are amazing. Gunplay is fun, stealth is pretty easy tbh, but I'm only playing on Normal. People also love the "simulation" driving option, but I'm not using it. Game has so far followed the formula of (light spoilers)

fuck up operations (drugs, prostitution, etc) to piss off a subboss, kill two subbosses and the main guy for the area shows up, kill him and give the district to one of your subbosses. Some people say it's repetitive, but I've always enjoyed games like these, and the gunplay is fun enough to where several other posters don't mind the repetitiveness of the structure
