Devon Pritchard is the Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Communications at Nintendo of America. Pritchard had been serving as "acting executive" since November 2021, and previously held the role of Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and Publisher Relations. Pritchard has worked for Nintendo since 2006.

Interesting. No idea who this lady is. Doug Bowser…. No idea what he was like at his job but he stunk on stage. Reggie was a tough act to follow.

I have no idea if this is Bowser's choice or if he's being forced out, but I think this probably has more upside than downside. Nintendo of America, and Bowser in particular, have mostly bungled their messaging around the Switch 2.

Ultimately, NoA is a marketing and messaging arm of Nintendo, so if they're failing st that role, then there needs to be a shakeup.

Doug Bowser had zero presence. Huge downgrade from Reggie.
It also looked like he didn't have pull with the Japanese side of the business which lead NOA to where it is today. Reggie wasn't quite Tom Kalinske tier, but he got approval to bundle Wii Sports which helped make the Wii a run away success. Doug Bowser had Welcome Tour release at $10 under his watch.

Reggie was still a corporate head when he was brought in, but he engaged with the community. And tried some light trash talking. His book Disrupting the Game is a decent look into this life and run at Nintendo. Prior to that Nintendo was really secret and only the few big names that left said anything but weren't very talkative. I wonder if Doug will put one so we can hear his side.

This guys face is something else. Born to sue people.

Or make you cut off a finger. Maybe Nintendo is returning to their roots.

I'm really hoping Shuji Utsumi has success bringing back the various Sega franchises. The recent Sonic Crossworlds commercial that calls back to the 90's Genesis Does What Nintendon't ads gives me hope. We need creative Sega to drive Nintendo to not be complacent.

Shibata was the head of Nintendo Europe for a while, I recognize him from a few Directs. But does anyone have any insight on how/what he did? Does he look like a good match for NOA?

This should be added to the OP, this is a much bigger deal than then Pritchford. This is a high-ranking Nintendo exec taking over the US branch, which hasn't happened since Kimishima left in 2013.

This shows a big downgrade on confedence in NOA, and also shows just how good Reggie was at his job that he didn't need a Japanese supervisor to run his business.

Reggie was damn terrible. Wasn't he the one in charge during the Wii years when it took a massive effort to get Xenoblade released in the States? Operation Rainfall or something because Reggie proclaimed it wouldn't sell in America.

Reggie waa occasionally humorous in press events/Directs but that didn't make him great at the job overall.
