Download it here.

I made it with Reason 2.5. I think I maxed out Reason as I already learned the "back" side of it also and played with the spider CV units to make the sound in "Emotional Pencil". Anyways, I try to make music the resemble notalgic videogame tunes like Illusion of Gaia and many others. I personally think the project I did before this one is better but this one is "okay". I'd like to hear contructive criticism....I'll take my chances in the GAF minefield.

I only had time to listen to the first track. I would say it sounds like R2D2 having an orgasm....did I get it right? :D

Honestly, though, it's pretty good. I think you hit the mark since the nostalgic gaming style is what you were after.

Welcome beautful toddler, Madison Elizabeth, to the horde!
I was just about to ask people here if they made music. I use reason 2.5 as well, along with other apps. I just bought myself a new midi controller, check it out

microKONTROL.jpg

The microKONTROL is the ultimate portable MIDI keyboard controller, providing every function and type of control you need for computer - based music production or performance.

With a compact and sophisticated-looking design, it includes a three-octave keyboard (37 note mini keyboard), eight encoders, eight sliders, and sixteen trigger pads that you can use to control your favorite soft synths, DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), or other musical tools such as external MIDI sound modules. It is the perfect choice for making music on the go thanks to its compact design, and it will fit into the tightest performance space.

The award-winning KORG microKONTROL is now bundled with the Creative Kontrol Pack - 3 software products ideally suited for dance music creation and performance!
• "Live Lite 4 Korg Edition" - a lite, yet surprisingly powerful version of the cutting-edge Ableton “Live 4” loop-based audio/MIDI sequence software. (Live is a trademark of Ableton AG.)

• "SampleTank 2 Korg Edition" - a special version of IK Multimedia’s standard-setting “rompler” plug-in software “SampleTank 2 Free”, which comes with over 150 MB of custom sounds. (SampleTank is a registered tradmark of IK Multimedia Production srl.)

A compact MIDI keyboard controller
that provides 35 different controllers

The microKONTROL’s velocity-sensitive 37-note mini keyboard provides Octave Shift and Transpose functions that allow it to cover the full range of C-1 through G9. Eight different velocity curves are provided – you can select the response that works best for your playing. Eight encoders and sliders, sixteen pads, a joystick with switch, and support for pedals give you a total of 35 different controllers, making this the ultimate controller for direct and intuitive operation.

Eight encoders and sliders, with associated LCDs

The eight encoders and sliders can be assigned to transmit any MIDI control change (including NRPN and RPN messages) to control volume, panning, or anything else. Operating a controller will transmit the MIDI message assigned to it. Each encoder and slider also has an LCD (sub display) that indicates the parameter and the transmitted value, with the backlight color changing between orange and green to distinguish between the encoder and slider. Since you won't have to watch your computer screen while you operate the controllers, your fingers will be linked to your music in a more physical way. The LCD can display either decimal or hexadecimal values.

Sixteen trigger pads that also function as control switches
The microKONTROL provides sixteen trigger pads that can be assigned with an unprecedented degree of freedom. The pads can be used to trigger notes with full velocity transmission, or assigned to transmit MIDI control changes to operate the transport of your recording software or act as any type of switch.

I have a cable modem, yet nothing is happening. Oh crap, it just timed out. Fix your stuff and I'll critique it.

So what's your stuff like? Boards of Canada?

Man, those sound really good! I need to pick up a soft synth one of these days; how much does Reason go far now? How long did it take you to make those songs?

I'll download all the stuff before listening to anything, I'm not in the mood right now. If it sucks I'll demand you get banned for sucking up my bw :). Ahem, is it anything like your nick/avatar? "Music has..." must be one of my favorite albums... ever...

On eBay nowadays you can get Reason for about $200 (no "backups"). A song might take about 3 days, depending on the daily schedule of things, then an extra day for mastering.

Reason is good, but, quite frankly VSTi is the way to go. If my PC could handle 18 tracks of VSTi on Logic or Cubase I would've left Reason a long time ago, although I would probably use Reason for certain things but definantly not as my main production application.

Hehe, "Music has the Right to Children" is indeed a classic! Actually, my avatar is Board of Canada's "Geogaddi" album...and no, my style is not even close to BoC. My stuff isn't lo-fi IDM. My style is nostalgic in a videogame sense, for example, you might hear a bit of "Super Metroid" here and there, or Chrono Trigger, or Earthbound, etc. My music is heavily influenced by videogames.
