Time chamber before they fought Cell. They were both training but Gohan got way stronger, way faster. He's also been training a lot off-screen, and we know he gets crazy gains from his training. They're just hitting him all at once.

Gohan kept up with that, and maybe even overtook it a bit, as evidenced by their recent spar. He did have the only clean hit of that entire thing.

That was training and with Goku and they were about even until Gohan went Super Saiyan 2. He wasn't way stronger. And Gohan been training on and off, not continuously.

And how do you know he went all out? He used Super Saiyan against Krillin remember.

I mean, you can say that about anything then. But did Krillin register a clean hit against Goku? So far I think it's only really been 17, Buu, and Gohan.

Also, if Gohan's about to match or overtake him in power, it'd make sense their base forms would be close in power.

Soooo.. Roshi is a rapist.

Actually, he nearly ringed him out and pushed Goku back. He even held back the Kamehameha for a few seconds with Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku.

Also, since Gohan has been grinding, his 'base form' would be higher than it was then when they sparred. If Gohan after all that training with Piccolo is only even with Goku, that means he wasn't when they fought in Episode 75.

If power levels consistency in Super is a lost cause anyway, so might as well let fans be happy.

It really isn't. Only for those who hate how powerful certain character have become, like the people still whining about Frieza today. Gohan may come close, but I don't him matching Goku.

You know what would really be nuts? If we get to the point of the Tournament of Power beginning, and Toei just suddenly stealth-releases the high-budget Tournament of Power movie they've been working on.

Got some questions.

How is full powered Roshi besting Tien?

You are telling me regular humans can scare Chiaotzu? Didn't this guy fight a saiyan?

Why did Goku had to power up in base form to take on freaking Roshi?

How did base form Goku's kamehameha not oblierate Roshi?

Its a wasted opportunity to not bring back crane master shen for some old forgotten rivalry and that promise where he swear he will return

Goku wasn't at full power, or nothing indicated he was at full power.
It was a scaled back Kamehameha, just like when he used one against Krillin a few episodes ago.

Gohan's back guys there's no argument to be had. Time frames just don't matter anymore. Super started with Goku going from Buu Saga to God strength during a single fight, then Frieza from Namek to >Blue strength in a couple months, Trunks going from SSJ2 to SSRage in a few days... hell Black made that same jump just by fighting Goku a couple times.

They've easily been building up Gohan's training immensely longer than they've build up any other character training of Super. This is the third damn arc of it.

He's probably dead. Toriyama humored as much in an interview.

Goku had a ritual, much like Gohan in the Buu Saga. Frieza trained for months, not just two days. Trunks got a new transformation, while Gohan's Ultimate form isn't new. Black was already strong since his base form alone was said to be on par with Super Saiyan 3 Goku.

So no. Nothing Gohan is doing has been done in Super since everyone the most dramatic jump too either a brand new transformation, a ritual, or a couple months of training. Not just level grinding for two days. And Gohan has been training on and off, unlike the above mention Frieza who did it straight. The same with Trunks who got his ass kicked and emotionally broken to get his power.

let's get real here

I'd rather have them skip the whole Gohan/Goku fightin favor of a blossoming love triangle of Cabbe, Califlawa and Kale

He said that in the interview? Even if thats the case, i think its alright to contradict and overwrite what he said verbally.

Besides the episode being great or not, I loved the fact they did a kind of sexist episode, in tone with original Dragonball.

Well, Crane Hermit and Taopaipai would have been killed by Buu, and since they were rather evil, Shenron probably kept them in hell instead of reviving them.

The episode was nothing special, but still enjoyable. Nice to catch up with Tien again, and I'm very interested in the whole Caulifla thing.

He hasn't been really doing that for Super. In fact, it's the opposite. The show has been reinforcing stuff he said in interviews with 17 being the latest example.

Pilaf and co go brought back.

The Pilaf Gang is about as evil as Team Rocket.

Vegeta got wished back a day after killing a bunch of innocent people.

He had to work for it. If he didn't help so much against Buu, his butt would have stayed dead.

Calling it now this is all going to end with the God of everything being so excited with the tournament that he makes thousands of more universes so they can have more tournaments in the future. thus leading into to dragon ball heros/fusions, and GT universe.
