Did you read the subs?

Cabba already explained that the 'tingle in your back' is after you go Super Saiyan the first time from anger. Caulifa just skipped step 1, went to step 2 because she's a genius.
Not sure why you quoted me, I'm not complaining about the Caulifla thing.

Goten and Trunks got it via :well we still really don't know

I still like to think it was somewhat innate from having fathers who both had already become SS before conception. It "being in their blood" maybe reduces the need for the emotion to be able to, possibly even to the point of it just being a natural feeling. Gohan didn't have this, of course, since Goku hadn't become a SS yet, so...

It's also entirely possible to explain how Pan is how she is already: Gohan was already SS2 by then (and Mystic but whatever, fan names) so it just transferred to her in a way.

Or maybe... Goku and Vegeta are both angry during coitus and they act like Klingons, so their DNA is super charged?

Yes I'm thinking too much about this.

So has becoming a Super Saiyan really been reduced to "focus on a tingling sensation in your back" now?

God damn. It ain't shit anymore.

Why is it so hard for people to understand what the scene was about, they literally spell it out.
Cabba says that focusing your energy in your back and making a specific sensation is how people who are already Super Saiyans turn it on, Caulifla says to teach her that instead and Cabba says that you can't do it right away. The point is that it's a foreign sensation that they replicate to turn Super Saiyan back on, Caulifla doing it on her own is supposed to show how incredible she is, not how easy Super Saiyan is to unlock, Cabba is even surprised by it.

How the fuck should Cabba know anything about it anyway? He was a hack that just accomplished SSJ, literally the Yamcha of Saiyans.

looks like

I like Bandana Saiyaman too. Maybe it's because of the movies? Isn't that the Saiyaman that catches bullets and kills Freeza with one punch?

You're thinking of two different movies. Movie 12 is where he one-punch defeats Freeza in the Saiyaman outfit sans headgear. Movie 13 he catches bullets while facing robbers in the beginning of the film, but he's wearing the bandana and glasses.

I thought Gohan looked better with the bandana and glasses rather than the helmet.

=(

The Bandana was nice because it didn't hide Gohan's face much, and it felt similar to what Piccolo did to hide his identity during the World Tournament when he was trying to kill Goku.

When they first showed the Broly looking character I was pretty stoked to see a team of movie villain's, in the end I'm glad they've taken the Broly idea and given it to someone else.

Still trying to wrap my head around Goku asking Frieza to help him, I don't think he will but I hope he refuses. Would love to see a righteous character like Grandpa Gohan or Bardock. Even Android 16 would be a preferred choice to Frieza. No way Frieza stays loyal, I expect him and Frost to run off together.

Just felt like sharing my birthday cake with Dragon Ball GAF before I forget:

All I asked for was a white cake with buttercream icing, but my family knows me well!

The power being focused in the back thingie for SSJ transformations was kinda neat. The focus on the back kinda reminded me of Grappler Baki, with the Hanma blood mutating people's backs lol.

And man, I'm really anticipating the return of Lord Frieza this Saturday! It's lame that Buu is benched again, but I think I'm over it. I wanted an evil character on the Universe 7 squad pretty bad, because I like conflict and disruption.

I am wondering if this mean that
Caulifla potential has no limit?

Considering how badass she looks, I can believe it.

Yeah, that's
SS2 alright. Caulifla vs Kale please.
I wonder if Kale's clothes are stretchy, like the Saiyan armor we've seen time and time again. They gotta be.

Just had a thought about why they might
be bringing back Freeza.
Aside from merchandising, he's been a very prominent villain from DB but at some point you have to admit, DB and DBZ tend to make the villain worthless and sometimes forgotten. Sure, we have Vegeta and Fat Buu hanging around, but they're not "evil" per se.

Now, in western comics, sometimes the best villains are the ones that stick around. Like Lex Luthor and the Joker. Freeza, to me, takes the best parts of both these villains, Lex's cunning demeanor yet can get as chaotic as Joker when he loses all composure. Like Lex, Freeza always looks for an advantage and tends to gloat about victory.

After seeing the success of these two comic book villains, perhaps Toei might be finding a way to make Freeza a regular again. Also, it would be VERY interesting to see if Goku and Freeza can actually work together, but still remain mortal enemies. I mean it begs for a fresh new dynamic over "bad guy turns good" which has been a staple for the series for so long. Also there's that plot carrot hanging over the show's head about planet Vegeta's destruction, just imagine the drama that would unfold if Freeza decides to spill the beans just for shits and giggles.

I'd say, make him a regular again and have him just pop up every few episodes.

Pros of Frieza:
Re-contextualizes RoF
Interactions with Frost and the Z Fighters

Cons:
Golden Frieza
Frieza is irredeemable
Comes at the expense of Buu
Comes at the expense of Skinny Buu
He'll probably come out of this alive

I've said it a million times and I'll keep saying it, I don't think there is any reason to think that they are going to try to redeem Freeza.

The issue is he's not a threat due to the existence of Beerus.

Actually redeeming him right in this arc would be a mistake, but I'd really prefer if he stayed as an uneasy ally like Namek Vegeta, rather than just getting pointlessly killed off again.

I just don't really understand the point of bringing him back. Goku has to make a deal with devil? Sure sounds great, but it could have easily been that way since day 1 instead of just faking out Buu. Especially after Buu was supposed to make up for the Champa tournament.

Tbh yeah, they should've probably dropped either Tien or Roshi from the very beginning (that is to say not appearing on promotional material at all) and kept Buu. Slim Buu will be missed :(

What they should have done in the promo, is have a blank in Buu's spot, so we don't know if Buu's the 10th member or not. But I guess that would have been a giveaway something was going to happen to Buu once you see him in the exhibition match.

To do that Buu wouldn't be in the exhibition match, but then he has no moment to shine, and wanting to Slim down wouldn't make as much sense.

I don't know how you do the Buu fakeout successfully, besides not doing a fakeout in the first place.

The expected thing is for Beerus to erase Frieza, not for him to come out alive. Honestly that'd be the most shocking result, even if it is insinuated by the deal they'll be making.

I'm still hoping Frieza changes his color. Makes sense. He was beat by Blue, and it gives Toei a new form to market/ new merchandise to sell.

Skinny buu may have been foreshadowing to him going bad again, him not being in the tournament could be build up for the next arc aside from all the surviving universes invading u7. He could be pretty upset about it even though it's something he couldn't help.

They could just avoid making the opening focus specifically on the tournament team. Throw Yamcha and other characters in the opening and promotional artwork too, leaving the actual final team line up vague. I think this is the first time we get an opening with so many scenes focusing specifically on a single plotline like this. The previous ones (aside from GT's) have been much more generic - although the Buu Saga opening did make a goof by presenting Gohan's classmates as part of the main cast.

Pretty sure Buu expelled all the evil in himself. But who knows, maybe Satan dies, or Goku, and that really upsets Buu.

I don't know what you can really do with Evil Buu though, without it treading the Buu arc, which most people felt went on too long.

I mean, that still doesn't solve the marketing which revealed the 10 fighters.
I think it would have been best if we didn't know anything about the 10 fighters until they were enlisted, but I guess that would have been near impossible for Toei to do.

I kinda love this shot of Goku looking villainous.

I'm a little less hot on those shots of Kale/Caulifla. The characters look fine, but the backgrounds behind them look oddly...rough.

Granted that could be a very animated shot, so who knows.
