I would be perfectly ok with this. If this was just a specialized technique. If Tien could neutralize Ki blasts but still get flattened by an actual punch this would be dope. Especially in some tag team action.

He's a descendant of the Three-Eye Clan. Whether they are from Earth or not, who knows. I know one of the video games claimed they were aliens, but that's a video game so take it with a HUGE grain of salt.

According to Toriyama Tien would have godlike powers if he reached enlightenment but the influence of the Crane hermit's evil is keeping them suppressed. Of course that's Toriyama so he may not even remember saying it.

They should just say Tien's normal Tri Beam can now push back/harm anyone regardless of power level because it attacks their life force directly or something.

Considering the incredible amount of things he ripped off Hunter X Hunter, it's not like he could actually say anything.

Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan have the most raw power and are the most straightforward fighters
The humans use a large variety of special techniques
the androids use their undetecable ki and stamina to play the long game and wear opponents down, they fight like assassins.
Piccolo and Buu are in between the humans and saiyans, a lot of power with a bunch of weird techniques and body modifications.
Keep going all in on that direction, one thing I really like. I hope to see Krillin pull something else that isn't just a new solar flare and the androids unique attributes should come into play.

And also, how will the fighting screen time be distributed? Because in hindsight One Piece had something of a battle royal at Marineford, and it was kind of awkward to keep track and even care about what fights were going on because it was all over the place.

Marineford still had more structure as it was mostly just 2 big factions, Tournament of Power has 8 factions all fighting each other, why I suggested a team up.

As I've said a few times, I think we'll be getting 2, maybe 2 and a half episodes for the Battle Royale and then that leads into something else, either bad shit goes down or multiple universes have the same number of people left in the arena, leading to a second "half" of the tournament that is a little more traditional.
Nope, Grand Priest said that the universe with the most people still in the arena at the end of the time limit wins, but he didn't say what would happen if more than one universe had the same number.

Hmm. Also, what if a given Universal team, realizing they either have no chance to win or are at the brink of being eliminated just says "screw it" and tries to attack the Zenos?
Granted I think anyone would just get killed by the Grand Priest before even reaching them, but what impact do you guys think that could have on the actual Zenos and the other Universal teams too?
Doubt DB would go that "deep" in the feelings/seriousness department (not that it can't, it just doesn't seem like the vibe of the current show tbh) but I feel that could be a cool "trigger" for whatever comes next.

Yeah, I think that would happen too, but I'm more interested in how that "event" could play with the rest of participants themselves. Imagine a mass revolt during the tournament sort of thing
Of course realistically, whatever will happen won't go that "far" as mentioned above. One of the only downfalls of becoming more DB than DBZ in how serious things are

They would just fail miserably and get erased. Theyve set the hierarchy of the zenos and angels in stone. The only chance of a revolt would come from Hit and Goku working together against gods of destruction

Dudes, the point isn't whether or not they would even get to the Zenos They wouldn't, they'd get insta rekt. The interesting bit of that approach is playing with the reactions of the rest of Universes and even the Gods themselves and where or what that could lead us to.
I think that could be an interesting approach, even if realistically it's not even an option for the show hehe

Oh yeah I could totally see that happening, its already been set up with the kais meeting, but it will be a 5 minute scene of a team trying to revolt getting squashed and everyone else being like welp!
