Not too different from his character design. He was also jacked as fuck in the opening too.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of Jiren yet. He's a Grey and a triangle. I feel like those kinds of fighters would have been jobbers in a previous saga. And something about him strikes me as overly simple.

But Beerus, Hit, and Goku Black have all made strong impressions on me when I saw them in action so I'm still hyped to see him. Especially Black, since I couldn't have imagined what direction he would take. Post-revival been great for villains.

Gotta follow the rules of silhouettes. If you can easily identify someone by their silhouette, then they probably have a pretty good design.

Re-watching the Vegito Blue fight. When the Blue transformation has good animation behind it and I view the transformation as being more about efficient God Ki management coupled with Super Saiyan instead of a transformation beyond the universe punches of SSG, I really like the transformation

still the best part of super in so many ways

Vegito being disgusted that Blamasu was crying was really funny,
And the spirit sword stab is one of the best moments in Super.

The stab really bothered me

It's like the ran out of time and/or money and couldn't animate that part so just left it static. In Z when he used it against Buu, it was pulsing and had a sound effect and it just seemed so much more powerful.

Watched the dub, Mr. Satan done fucked Goku.

Great to understand the context of the being punched scene, and SSJ Satan in XV when?

Need to rewatch it, don't remember it bothering me too much.
Timing wise it was perfect when Blamasu had his sword ready. Wish we saw something new with the spirit sword, my one complaint.

Universe punches were the worst thing they did with it. Makes so many other things not make sense. As a focused ki control SS, yeah, totally cool.

Or his daughter

latest

Nah, the God Ki being focused doesn't make any sense, because that would mean people currently on Goku and Vegeta's level could do the same in terms of making ripples through the universe.

Just better to forget that happened.

Man....sometimes I think back to mid-way thrpugh the Black saga....right around when the Maffuba was used....how hype that was and how that saga was looking to one of the most exciting I've ever seen...

Man....what the fuck happened. I don't hate the ending, but christ it fell apart there at the end. There were some episodes, particularly that one with the Mai sniper Scene and Vegeta wailing on Black, that were legit some of the best episodes I'd ever seen in Dragon Ball. Such a shame. A saga that could have been a classic, now is a cool concept with cool characters that kinda fell flat on it's face.

He's totally going to transform at some point. Like you said, his design is way too simple.

But then again, maybe that's what they're going for? Superman is simple, so Jiren is simple, too.

Jiren kinda reminds me of Jaco design-wise, so I can see it simply being a design that Toriyama's fond of as well.

When we first saw the Vegito preview I was so hyped. I thought the narrative would be Vegito being so strong that he was literally punching the immortality out of Zamasu, thus causing a reaction in his body, resulting in blob Zamasu. When Gowasu mentioned that Zamasu, in his lust for strength, was starting to lose the balance in his mind, I thought they'd go for the "person who tried to fly too high" angle, just to die miserably in their own desperation (think Light from Death Note), but that was not what happened. I wanted Vegito to be the one who "defeated" Zamasu, maybe weaken him enough so that Trunks would deal the final blow. I mean, Vegito has that binding move, he could have used that and then tell Trunks that it was his duty to finish Zamasu off, since that was his world. Ah well, can't have everything you wish for.

I doubt Jiran will transform

they had to design a ton of characters for this arc, so adding transformations on top of that seems like a nono

I know you say but but Brola...but then again it seems that Toei came up with that transformation? she seemed to be a slim saiyan like Cabbe originally

That's another thing, they're both very obviously based of Greys. I suppose I wouldn't mind that so much if he was the same race as Jaco, but that doesn't seem to be the case, and it's probably impossible anyway.

Am I the only one that loves the ending for the arc? It was refreshing to see an arc with permanent consequences.

I loved it. Wasn't fond of Super Saiyan Rage or the Spirit Sword, but it was a nice touch to set up the villain getting destroyed and then go "lol nope, he's still immortal. Everybody fucked".

It's like how Goku charges up that huge Spirit Bomb against Freeza and it still doesn't work.

That arc and its villains are among my favourites of the whole franchise.

The ending was great, I'm sure plenty of people agree there. The parts some people didn't like are the scenes before Zeno blowing it all up. The whole Saiyan Rage, Spirit Bomb sword stuff could've been handled a lot better.

By the way, if Zeno is planning to erase the universes anyway and the new future where Trunks went doesn't have Goku to arrange a universe tournament anymore, is he going to be a goner soon? 🤔 Future Trunks is truly the most miserable of the characters in Dragon Ball.

I hated the 'rocks fall, everyone dies' ending. It could have been an ending with permanent consequences if most of the humans on Earth were still dead on Trunks' timeline but a few survived. Instead it was unnecessarily dark yet weirdly played as a happy ending. The tonal whiplash of the last few episodes was horrible.

what do you guys think? Could Vegerot be more powerful than Beerus?

Remember that besides his raw power, he has access to SSB and Kaioken, times whatever he can handle, so I'm definitely in the "Vegito is stronger than Beerus" camp. By how much? I don't know, but I'm sure Beerus could still stand his ground and damage Vegito greatly, but not win.

Kaioken SSB is not a thing in the manga ):

I'm just gonna throw this out there, but I hope the dub can do champa justice. That is the hands down funniest character in the series imo, and a lot of it is voice actors ability. Also imma be pissed as hell if we lose Champa this arc, back on topic

goku made it happen faster, could be thousands of years before it would happen to trunks timeline

that whole arc is great, the main blemishes being the out-of-nowhere genki sword, and Whis bullshitting a way for Trunks and Mai to go back to a timeline they recognize

but overall I love it, and the ending is cool as well

Goku should have taught, and failed at teaching Goku the Genkai Dama. Would have made the sword make more sense, especially if he's doing it unintentionally.

Okay

1) "Vegerot" is awful. Seriously. Stop it. STAHP!!
2) Holy crap, this thread keeps on moving fast. Nothing like power level discussions to make a DB thread move hehe :P
3) GIMME STRONG GOHAN ALREADY! >.<'!!

I really wish I could binge watch certain parts of the show hehe :P

Yeah I found that hard to reconcile as well.

"Trillions of streams of consciousness just ended, these people are dead for real"
"Lawl, I'll just live in a replacement alternate universe I guess"

I guess they can't go too deep into it and traumatize kids.
Then again I did see dismembered characters in DBZ as a kid, and I turned out...Oh.

I think that, by the time the Zamasus arrives to Earth, they have killed all life in all the universes, except for Zeno and I assume the Grand Priest (which must be p disconnected to not notice the massive genocide going on)

so basically in the end of the saga the only people who die are those few survivors we see giving energy to the genki sword (which only makes the whole thing sillier) aka: the turtle and 8-chan and his peeps
