Look at this psycho. I loved this shot of Gohan from the last episode.

How did you know it wasn't the same for piccolo
checkmate
Picollo deserves all the respect

If we think Piccolo was telling the truth in the flashback, he said he was locking forward to the challenge and stakes of the tournament, and Goku responded by saying that's how he thought Piccolo would react.

Goku definitely does respect Piccolo a great deal.

He has to respect Gohan's dad, after all.

Picollo is clearly lying to make hiself feel beter
Goku needs his blessings anyway

Man, going through Volume 1 of the printed version of Super is kind of rough. I mean, it's not awful, but reading it immediately after reading the Full Color Dragon Ball releases just shows the massive disparity between Toyo and Tori. Ah well, I guess it is serviceable, and I enjoy the anime version anyway.

Seeing the Tights part for the first time in a while reminded me that I'd really enjoy a Full Color Jaco release, along with an animated special....

There's a full color of everything (DB, DBZ, Jaco, Neko Majin) in japan. Thank Viz for deliberately taking decades to get the shit out.

An animated adaptation of the Jaco manga would be an awesome "filler" arc (using the term filler as something between two Goku adventures, but I know Jaco is 100% canonical Toriyama material) for DBS. But somehow, Toei thinks random adventures with koala-looking aliens and half-assed Arale cameos are better.

Should be a ova/special.

It's weird we haven't had a movie yet

It makes sense for a few reasons. For one Super still has production issues, so it makes sense to not do a movie until those issues are all sorted out. There's also the issue of Fox owning the film rights to Dragon Ball so the main parties that own Dragon Ball don't get as much out of films any more and it's more attractive to them to keep everything under their ownership, it's often speculated that that is one of the reasons they remade the two recent films in Super, so they could use those characters and visually reference those stories in anything they wanted without having to credit Fox in any way. We'll probably get more films eventually, maybe when Fox loses the rights or Toei decides to buy them back. I wouldn't be surprised to see a TV special or two before another movie though.

There is a lot of potential for TV specials and I hope we get some. Some examples off of the top of my head;
Future Trunks' "Buu" arc
Beerus and Champa origin story
A story following Universe 6 characters and a threat in their universe
And now the Pride Troopers seem like they probably have some great potential for an original story

Makes sense get why they would wait

Me personally i would rather have Episode of cat gods or other universe heroes than another Z fighters though i know we probably won't get that because money.

Am I the only one that finds the pride troopers completely bland and generic and can't see them as anything else but cannon fodder ? :/

I absolutely don't want to see any of their garbage dragged over an entire OAV.

Give me more Great Saiyaman or Jaco, or hell, since 17 knows Jaco now, give me Goten Trunks 17 Tights and Jaco in space fighting off some space fighting off some space criminals.

They are a neat Ginyu Force parody

Maybe it's too early to judge, but I agree. I'm not a fan of them being the main "antagonist" of the arc honestly. It's like if the Ginyu force were the main antagonists of the Namek arc.

Doesn't help that they have filler-tier designs, too.

Without the charm, humor, and cool powers.

:/

At least Ginyu and Guildo had some sick abilities.

The pride troopers can punch hard and throw slightly different colored ki beams. So kewl.

I know it's premature, but where does Super go after this arc? They have the most powerful beings in ALL the universes in one room(?) as well the creator of said universes

They teased Uub(which i love), but what would the point even be at this point?

They invade One Piece and go get the damn treasure once and for all :P

Besides how long the tournament will likely be we still have 4 universe that were exempt from the tournament. Also maybe i don't know a rogue or fallen GoD or Angel

Zeno and the angels are definitely being set up to be villains IMO. The way they were treated as totally lacking empathy towards destroying entire universes, and the way Beerus and Champa felt outright betrayed by Whis and Vados upon hearing this, really makes me think they're not good guys at all

Goku defeated the evil demon king that was the strongest enemy his master ever knew, where does the series go from here? Oh, Aliens.

After the defeat of an incredibly powerful alien that was the self proclaimed strongest in the universe, where does the series go from here? Oh, there's a galactic overlord massively more powerful than that guy.

Goku defeated a galactic overlord who is supposed to be the strongest in the universe, where does the series go from here? Oh, some guy on Earth made a bunch of enemies stronger than him.

Gohan defeated the perfect being, where does the series go from here? Oh there was an ancient evil all along that was stronger than anything they faced before.

What comes next is never an issue, use your imagination.
The gods aren't omnipotent, there can always be stronger beings in each universe, there could also always be evils that for obvious reasons weren't part of the tournament and of course it's very unlikely that Goku will be a match for the GoDs by the end of this arc.
There is a multiverse of possibilities, and if they don't know what to do next they can always just expand the universe even more like Toriyama often does when he doesn't know what to do next.

this battle royale could spark a number of rivalries/create new villains/etc...

Let's wish for Planet Vegeta to be restored along with all of it's inhabitants who will now serve under the new King Vegeta, with Bulma, the Queen of the Saiyan race.

It could work. Vegeta could train an army of Super Saiyans, unlocking the potential in them all. Bulma could supply their technology. Bardock could be explored further as a character.

Eh, I'm just fantasizing. That's my ultimate ending for Vegeta, though that shI'm has likely sailed for him.

So, um, Wired Italy has a new interview with Toyotaro... and um... spoilers.
Q: Tell us something about the upcoming Dragon Ball Super arc.

A: I can only say this: do not think you already know the definitive teams for the upcoming Tournament of Power. Even if they have been already revealed”.
I hope he's talking out his ass...

Brb, need to go to business meeting

They had Gohan's seal of approval. :(
It'll also be the reason he and Piccolo leave U7.

Oh snap, missed this.

Huh.....Yamcha time? Wouldn't that be something hehe

Hard to take it as rushed when it's implied they've been training ALL day, this is Gohan just getting back to a form he's already unlocked years ago, finally remembering how to attain it. Considering the next time we see them it's night and Gohan is shown to first meet Piccolo in the morning then we're talking at least 6 - 8 hours of constant training and talking for Gohan to go through SSJ, SSJ2 and finally Mystic. Also considering Gohan and Piccolo know the TRUE reason for their training they would have gone harder now, this isn't just some sparring match, they ALL need to be at their best and they all need to be it FAST, they can't just rely on Goku here.

Time wise we've gone from a Gohan who can't even hold Super Saiyan anymore (RoF), to one who CAN hold it (FT) and use it tactically to his advantage (Start of this arc), to training under Super Saiyan 2 and now using all forms and reaching Mystic.

Gohan and Piccolo have been training for over a year, so it's not like he got the form back in "just one day". I'm fine with the fact that it was an emotional barrier that was stopping Gohan from getting the form back up to this point, I just would have preferred if he transformed more calmly, like in the opening.

Mystic through meditation would have been better, but the route they went was still entertaining.
Imagine if Gohan realized by himself his arrogance problem.
