4K sprite-work DBZ 2D fighter on PS4 Pro.

I think Revelator 2 has no Pro support... =(((

Plus, they went on record saying that sprite work in HD is useless because they spend as much time making them as their 3D models, but the 3D models are never outdated and are future proof, plus they can easily tweak them to fix issues/ improve them over time.

I'd go for a style similar to what ASW accomplished with GG Xrd, I feel that's what would work best for DB.

I would definitely take that over anything other solution, especially not the muddy Capcom graphics :p .

Maybe Netherrealm studio could be doing a DBZ game, with hyper realistic graphics and redesigned cast.

Imagine. ahahah

What does that mean ?

I mean flight that is terrible and results in weird positioning where I'm underneath the opponent and hitting them in the knees. I believe this tradition was introduced with Final Bout, seemed to be totally alive in Xenoverse (didn't play 2 though).

Extreme Butouden instead opted for having the main characters walk in mid-air, which is also kind of terrible.

NO! Don't even joke about that! Don't let Netherrealm anywhere close to a DBZ game! Ever! I wouldn't be able to put up with their janky animations. NO! That'd be the worst outcome.

Oh man, I normally just gloss over Slaythe's post because seriously why would I read Slaythe's posts and I managed to miss this. Put me in the please no camp.

I loved the old Butoden games's style !!!! You pressed a button and you'd fly and you could dash left and right. I loved that. Sadly I doubt we'll ever get that back because of the trolling possibilities. :p

One thing from Extreme Butoden I wish they'd have handled better, is the transition for the flight. Like, I get that they didn't want the characters on different planes, and that's fine, but they should have made it more dynamic, not just "do that particular combo and then wait for transition and then tadah you're in the air" . If you had fast paced combos to get more of those and different flying levels that would have been cool, even if it would be just "visual".

why would I read Slaythe's posts

Because I'm cute and adorable.

I was joking, but for the record, they improved Injustice 2 a lot. Some characters animate like shiiiit but some are downright fantastic. Just pick the good ones :p .

In fact, Future Gohan is not lame in the manga.

In the anime, they turned Gohan into a moron because he goes to fight both androids at the same time without Trunks, and gets killed.

In the manga, he thinks he is stronger than the androids, but 17 reveals they were deliberately hiding their true power from him, so his assumption was wrong and he pays a fatal price.

Basically in the anime he dies because he's over confident and dumb, in the manga he dies because 17 deceived him, he was playing a rigged game.

What does that mean ?

He died because he's a weakling who couldn't surpass even one of the Androids in 13 years.

Put me down as someone who would love to see a new, high quality 2D (in plane) Dragon Ball Fighting game. I know Hyper Dragon Ball Z has already been mentioned but that would be an excellent example to take after. That game looks legit hype and I think really sells you are fighting in a Dragon Ball Universe. If you have to nix/limit flying so be it. Would you have to go for actual 2D sprites to hit that level of animation? So be it.

Also BARF at the suggest Netherrealm handle such a hypothetical game. Just BARF.

Did Humans had ever reached a transformation on this saga? outside Roshi who can be bulky
We've seen Roshi's Max Power form and Tien's Four Witches but humans don't really have anything besides those and maybe kaio-ken and Ultimate.

They should use the Dragon Balls and wish that every human on Earth was 1/4th Saiyan.

I just want an original story for a new game that is not focused on travelling back in time to fights we have been through a 10000 times.

We haven't really had a good DB game in forever, I haven't played fusion yet, so I honestly don't know what I want.
Though I'm in the minority of people who think Budokai 3 is the best DB game.

I'm just hoping for a Fusions sequel. It had some odd design decisions of its own, but still was a very fun experience.

give me dragon ball legends but with good graphics

or just dragon ball legends, but continued until the current dbsuper arc

or just dragon ball legends with Ozotto

the super monster

Give me a proper fighting game with a varied and interesting roster. That's all I'm asking Toei, surprise me and I'll be there Day 1.

I feel 1:1 fighting games don't reflect all of DB:Z accurately

Imma gonna hold out until the inevitable DB:Musou after this arc

Jump Ultimate Stars is the best Dragonball game, and all of you know it.

Actually, I've heard Ultimate Butouden on DS was amazing, but haven't played it myself. Apparently the what-ifs were really fun too, like a storyline where you play as Yamcha and get killed by every major villain.

While we're on the topic of Dragonball games, why does everyone always seem to hate Ultimate Battle 22? I never played it in the PS1 era, but it seemed good enough for those days.

Or A Mystic form at least.

They could go for something similar to Marvel so 2v2 or 3v3. But, honestly, I wouldn't mind a 1v1 DBZ fighting game, all I want is a fighting game with characters from DBZ, one that I can enjoy and play like I do Street Fighter, Marvel, KoF or Guilty Gear.

JUS was interesting but, ultimately (lol), it was an unbalanced mess with shallow gameplay. I need my combos, juggles, QCF and DP motions.

I'm so sad Dokkan Battle is so successful, because I would love a good dbz mobile game, with coop and pvp and some actual strategy based card game or something, with db fusions' engine to depict the battles. =(

Yeah; I'd rather the Hyper Team get backing & a budget more than anything else. I enjoy NRS' work with MK, & Injustice is at least a gritty Elseworld, but I have no faith in them to handle DBZ.

Am I the only one here who wants a DB RPG game?

I'd just be happy if there's a Fusions sequel with more characters. It's so weird how they included Kid Goku in the main cast but the only other original DB character in the game was Piccolo Daimao. They even had all of Roshi's techniques (including the Mafuba, Sleep fist and the shocking Kame Secret from last week's episode), but didn't include Roshi himself as a playable character which was kind of weird. There's also two original characters with Kid Chichi's hat and the blade throwing move.

Although, looking back, Kid Goku himself as a main character might have been a last minute addition (he doesn't appear with the main party in the opening CG, only the big group shot at the end, and the game doesn't have voiced dialogue aside from stock phrases, so adding him to earlier dialogue scenes wouldn't be hard).

I'd take a Legend of Wulin hybrid DB game in a heartbeat---maximum world building and lore dump, then hew whatever direction they please on the fights.

While making unreasonable wishes, let's also go back in time and get the original One Must Fall 2097 team on a 2D tournament brawler with all the love applied and the Flying Dragon 64 team crossbred with the Tobal folks for something of a 3D open world brawler with gains.

Also, has my memory just warped with time, or didn't Tien have a 6-armed form at one point back in the Z days?

xenoverse is ok but there's so much potential with the time travel stuff yet you still end playing the same missions as every DBZ game it is fucking boring

Yeah there's barley any difference. Like if they're going that route give me some What Ifs like Nappa tagging along with Vegeta on Namek, otherwise I hope they go the Heroes route of just throwing characters in a situation and just going from there.

Extremely subjective.
I think Xenoverse 1 and 2 are fine. I am going to get Fusion in the next week or 2.

Thought I implied it was subjective when I said I was in the minority of people who thought the last amazing one was Budokai 3. Though I'd take a remaster of the Budokai Tenkaichi series and try them again, I think I went into all of them with too high an expectation.

Was there really anything good between the Budokai Tenkaichi series and Xenoverse/ fusions? Handheld ones? Because home console, what comes to mind is Kinect, Raging Blast, Battle of Z.

how come the future 17 was not SSB level anyway

tenor.gif

Because he was the strongest on earth and there was virtually no threat to his power around... He would have only felt like training if he ever encountered somebody that either came close to his power or beat him without killing him.

Which never happened.
