I wonder how much Future Gohan fought the androids, between the time his friends died and when Trunks grew up. I assume the androids wouldn't have let him live if he tried attacking in a rage directly after their deaths.

Future Goku should have told him about the ROSAT. Future everyone is an asshole besides future Krillin for teaching Gohan Solar Flare.

Tales from your ass though. This was never stated.

He said he put effort into getting stronger. He never said "poaching made me strong !". I don't see why he can't get stronger on his own, like basically any athlete can do... it's less effective than using magical power ups, but it did take him over a decade. Unlike Gohan who needs 3 hours.

And 17 put no effort into fighting Gohan, so he had no reason to get much stronger in the future, out of the 3 random encounters he had against Gohan.

Well there is a problem though. The ROSAT wouldn't have changed anything.

Gohan had plenty of time to train. The problem was that the androids were hiding their real power. (17 hadn't even used half his power yet)

Gohan didn't get ambushed, he went ahead to kill them, because he thought he was strong enough to kill them.

He made that assumption based off their encounters. He basically aimed for the wrong level to surpass. Since nobody could feel their power, nobody could warn Gohan he wasn't strong enough. So you don't know if they did guide Gohan or not.
 
Goku died of natural causes in FT's timeline. We don't actually know if he's given liberties in the afterworld (to get to Kai) if that happens or send straight to heaven/hell.

Even worse case scenario, they'd give one of them a free day to live pass though. Also, if the earth is doomed, you'd figure one of them would be allowed to keep their body to train. I know they forgot about the day to live pass until Buu saga, but it's still a hole in that timeline's logic.

They've only said that heroes get to keep their bodies though, nothing about unnatural death or "an hero's death" being necessary.
 
dunno about the rosat not doing much; it allowed him to reach SSJ2 at 11 years

and you don't even need SSJ2 to beat the future androids or Cell

In the manga adaption of Super we see Future Goku appear on snakeway, at least I think I did... maybe I dreamt it. I'll try find it.

I thought keeping your body was something Kami set up (they show that in the anime first time Goku dies at least) so he could train until he's revived. You can't revive from natural deaths anyway and I don't think we've seen anyone die naturally so we don't know what would go on?

In that specific case it was Kami that fixed up his body, but for example, Gohan (Goku's adoptive grandfather) also kept his body, and Goku obviously kept his body at the end of the Cell Saga without any specific goal in mind.

Although it's also true we haven't seen anyone who died from natural causes, but you'd think if it were meant to be relevant for something besides Dragonball resurrections it'd have been mentioned somewhere.
 
the afterlife is prolly the most inconsistent thing in db

I think that Goku just keeps his body by default now, after seeing it happen after Cell. maybe he appears in the afterlife queue for Enma, and just teleports away

I just don't see how Frieza is going to get introduced. It has to be Beerus arguing for him to come back, Goku and co. would NEVER voluntarily get Frieza because of past hatred/revenge. Frieza is literally the only antagonist to come back twice and still be evil as fuck.

Goku was going to let Freeza live on two separate occasions, he literally doesn't give a fuck. He needs to fill Buu's spot with someone strong and the universe is on the line.

Well, technically all that stuff about Piccolo Jr. not being as bad as his father was only said in the Saiyan Saga. The only reasons given for sparing him in the 23rd Budokai was that he couldn't be killed otherwise Kami would die and Goku silently thinking about how he wanted to fight against him again.

There is no justification for bringing him back by the original Z team. Frieza has always been seen, period, as irredeemable and evil. Goku just doesn't want to have to kill someone unless it's absolutely necessary. Vegeta was let go because Goku could see that he could be a good rival and not just an evil Saiyan. Frieza is not like that AT ALL.

Wrong, Goku let Vegeta live because he selfishly wanted to fight him again and even told Krillin he knew he was being selfish, it had nothing to do with him thinking Vegeta wasn't evil.
There's nothing said about redeeming Freeza, the entire universe is on the line, the stakes are higher than they've ever been and Goku needs to fill the spot left by Buu with someone at least as strong.

Uh, Goku let Freeza go too dude. And they all saw Vegeta to be just as irredeemable, Goku just wanted to fight him again. If they're just trying to make use of Freeza I don't see what's so contradictory about that, it's not like they're becoming BFFs.

And the preview says that everyone is against the idea but Goku goes to Baba anyways, so this is going to be a point of tension for the team. The universe is on the line and Goku is making an executive decision to try and make sure they win now that they lost one of their strongest fighters.

The absolute reaching that the story team is doing to justify this will be laughable at best.

I'm firmly against this happening specifically because

1)
Buu should get some time in the sun as a real fighter and Slim Buu was hype

2)
Bringing back Frieza a THIRD TIME seems so contrived and the optics look like they're literally out of ideas. It brings tension in for the sake of tension.

Thirdly, I
don't think Frieza is ever at all possible to be redeemed.

I don't see why forcing Freeza to fight in a tournament is "redeeming" him. I think we should wait for the episode to see how they handle it. I'm imagining him having little say in the matter with Beerus around. I'm also imagining him planning on fucking everything up for everyone. But we'll see how it goes.

I'm sad Buu is gone too but he got an entire fight this time so it stings less than it did during the U6 tourney.
 
Freiza ain't being redeemed. He'll probably notice Toppo's hate for Goku, and use it against Goku. I don't expect Freiza to get knocked out right away, and I don't expect him to fight for U7, he will defect to another team, in agreement that they let him go to their universe when they win.

I don't think Freeza is defecting, I bet he's going to be told that he'll be erased if he tries to fuck over the team. There's also the fact that he's only returning to the living world for 24 hours, so defecting to live in another universe wouldn't actually do him any good.

I half agree.
Goku most likely is able to rationalise it and way up the pros and cons. He knows there's at least 3-4 people in that U7 team alone that's capable of taking Frieza out if he steps out of line. But I do agree in regards that I think Beerus will initially suggest it. But then I think Goku will come around to the idea very quickly.

What happens if he's brought back for the 24 hours, and escapes to another universe before that 24 hours is up? When the timer is up does his essence try to return to the hell of an erased universe and he just poofs out of existence?
