Not a fan of that jacket over those shorts.

But I can almost look past that when he turns Super Saiyan because Super Saiyan Trunks always looks good.

Well....

I actually like how GT Trunks looks.
I think GT Trunks gets too much hate.

I think he suffers from the same issue that most GT characters suffer from - big head small torso. This shot easily shows it.

The art style works for children, short women, Vegeta and Kuririn, but it looks odd for most normal and tall characters. Even the games when including GT characters generally don't actually use GT's art style.

Is there any point where a Dragonball character is powering up where they don't also look like they're taking a violent shit? I mean when I'm taking a violent shit I'm also pushing my body to the maximum, trying to summon all the energy I can, so it makes sense. But I'm just wondering.

So how crazy am I to want an American DBZ continuation by a western comic production house like IDW? I get that it would be cringe, but if done right, it could be GLORIOUS cringe.

I've always wondered why D.C. Didn't get Akira Toriyama to do some graphic novel for Batman or superman.

Episode 90: ATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATAT

So great.

I just watched it yesterday. Probably my second favorite Super episode after Vegetto Blue. I was grinning from beginning to end. Animation was god tier. Gohan is back. Never doubted him for a second.

For an episode right before the tournament,
5 or 6 episodes before at least
, which is when I would think animation would start lacking, it was really good.

Honestly I doubt the next few episodes will look great, and that'll probably start with the next episode.

This week is a Yashima episode, so he'll probably be the only animator and a small selection of people will correct most of his work as usual, so no big investment there. Next week the only person we know is supervisor Itai, but since it will have only been 4 weeks since his last episode (3 if he took Golden Week off) it's likely it'll be like 82, where the whole episode is outsourced and Itai just corrects some stuff. The week after that we know is shared between a supervisor from an outsource studio and the least important in-house supervisor, though considering the plot importance I imagine most of his work will be corrected by chief supervisor Ide and some 2nd KA's.
90 was definitely the last big episode in terms of animation until the tournament starts. I feel fairly confident that 95 will be the start, with 94 being the episode where they get there.

That'd be my assumption.
If they want to get use out of a few more episodes before the tournament, one thing which would be neat is if U7 did a sparring match of 5 on 5, see who the weakest links are, who don't work well together, and who needs to work on teamwork more.
Also
see how much of a team player Frieza is.

17's return was my fav episode of Super. Goku and 17 finally meeting, seeing how 17 has become, their fight, a non-saiyan being top-tier, a forgotten character brought back in an entertaining way. It had everything :)

I feel like the reason 90 is higher than 88, which I really do love, it's probably my 4th favorite, and 80, is because 90 is the culmination of all the Gohan stuff.
80 and 88, which are great in their own rights, feel like stepping stones to this episode.

I need to rewatch the baby Pan episode. It was fun, too much Pilaf though, especially since they confuse me so much.

I wish this had of been SS3 Goku vs Gohan to start with.

Even though it didnt look like SS2 Goku was totally dominating Gohan and at times Gohan smacking the shit out of Goku.

Even when Goku went blue for that short exchange which was way stronger then SS3 they both got in some attacks.

That Blue KaioKen thing was just way too much.

ez

The art direction of the 17 episode is unmatched in Super.

The colors, story boarding, the effects, backgrounds, it felt truly special.

I'm hoping the Blu-ray version has some tiny corrections to make it flawless :D .

This episode seemed like Gohan knew he didn't have a chance, but he needed to see how much farther he needed to go to catch up to Goku.

Just using Blue would have meant Goku didn't respect Gohan.

Goku going SSJ2 makes sense because he didn't know about mystic, and once he saw mystic, SSJ3 wasn't an option.

Best DBS episode is "The Terrifying Zero Mortals Plan". I think it's like 61. That episode has everything. It had the reveal of how Goku Black came to be, the death of Chichi & Goten, the Zamas/Black bro hug, Goku losing his shit, Goku backhand to Zamas, Black's fuckin Ki Scimatar, & it was all topped off with Trunks going SSR.

Get ready.

ajay pointed out me that's apparently a common a trait of Nakatsuru's character art (at least his animation work, afaik his promo art looks good)
