I don't get the "new content" argument. There are numerous areas we haven't explored:

Heaven
Makai
The other four quadrants of the galaxy
All of the other universes, really, plus their non-mortal realms

Plus Popo's already mentioned that there are things going on in Earth. There are a ton of routes for the story to keep going whether universes are destroyed, combined, or if the status quo is maintained.

People can already travel from one universe to another... They are spatially connected, not parallel worlds. So "merging" them doesn't really make sense.

Do they travel in our dimensions, or punch above them though.

I saw godly travel as something akin to a slipstream/warp, so they're not connected for the purposes of mortals.

The stakes rise every arc, I think next arc will be the equivalent of hell.

There's Hell above the mortal realm and the Demon Realm below; presumably there's one for each of the universes. So I think the next arc could go to (or come from) one of those.

Hell is where evil souls go after death, the Demon Realm is where evil Shinjin are banished to.

How willing are they going to do with demon realm considering DBH and Xenoverse

Toriyama would be the one who would decide that. Does Toriyama do things just to sell merchandise? I get the sense that he doesn't really care; he's more driven by his own whims and competitiveness.

What if the Grand Priest was secretly conspiring to merge all 12 Demon Realms so that some ancient evil can be brought back

An ancient, unfathomable being of enormous power that existed before the gods themselves, Majin Buu!

Don't know how I feel about every universe being merged into one. Would depend on how it's handled.

I mean, it'd be a shame to throw away dozens of actual stories though. Even if they don't get to them right away stuff like Vegeta visiting the U-6 Sayain homeworld, even if only for an episode, is too good an idea to throw away or Gohan having a superhero team-up with the Pride Troopers or Freeza and Frost teaming-up to take over the universe.

There's also demon world stuff, sure, but nuking seven whole universes is just depriving yourself of potential plot ideas for no good reason.

English ones maybe, international ones ? No, Dragon Ball has a ton.

But even then, there is a general apathy towards what Naruto has become, and despite Boruto being good from what I hear, many people gave up on the licence after the underwhelming last act.

There are dozens of "DC/Marvel" forums and it doesn't stop the GAF threads from being lively.

The fact that you have to go to niche dedicated forums is kinda proof it's not as mainstream as it used to be.

It's a combination of things really.

1. Naruto didn't end on a very good note. (Seriously, just WHO is the final villain? Some random villain who you've never heard of)

2. Anime constantly used fillers so people eventually got fed up and quit the show.

3. People are burnt out of the series. 15 years and I'm not in any mood to follow any further sequel.

All signs point to Toriyama barely doing more than a very basic outline of an arc, and then the anime people/toyotaro takes it from there.

I think the success of DB's revival is in part because every fan wanted it back.

While it's true Naruto had literally no break and ended in complete indifference because the sequel was already being worked out before it even ended. :/

I stopped following Naruto closely way before it ended. The finals years of that shit was such a drag. Boruto is a breath of fresh air imo. Best thing to happen to that series in forever.

if toriyama cared about making more money we'd be seeing ties in with the existing xenoverse / dragon ball heroes characters.

dude wants to tell the best story possible but also maybe not work that much anymore?

Will they even touch it, Toryama probably wants to do whatever and use his own stuff.

Can they though? A big deal was made about Hit being able to travel between universes if he got Champa's cube.
When Hit came to Earth he might have hitched a ride with Champa and Vados.
Even if they can, the space between is huge, Jaco talks about how massive Universe 7 is alone, so having the contents of 8 universes close together would change things pretty dramatically.

Yeah... listen, there are TONS of things that have contributed to Naruto's decline.

Such creativity
don't forget generic demons
what is this obsession with Bardock he went from being low class to being as strong as Goku

I want the next arc to show us Zeno's parents. Have them be so mighty that they easily defeat the grand priest with just a pinky. Then have Goku seriously wonder if he really wants to be the strongest person in all of reality or if he's fine with being where he is. Really show the ultimate futility of the desire to be the best.

I know it's a wish beyond even Super Shenron's power, but I really just want Goku to grow as a person, especially since the others have already. (Vegeta caring about his daughter, Roshi going beyond being a perv, Gohan realizing that fighting has a purpose, etc...)

Theres all the generic heroes too. Beat, etc. I think XV will absorb the DBH story since its halfway there already anyways

Although both took elements from DB Online, Xenoverse's staff was quoted saying they wouldn't use Heroes material (although the designs for Freeza's race armor in Xenoverse 1 came from Heroes).

Yeah. I found it funny how his planning was literally "Well, we should try to stay in the center."
Everybody else except U9(because they suck): genius why didn't think of that, you must be a great tacticians
U9: shit why didn't we think of that

Gohan is an expert tactician.

Gohan is the weirdest choice for leader if you think about it for more than a second.
He's supposed to be super smart... but its book smart. Besides his ridiculous strength, as a fighter Gohan has always been straight dense.
More than that, there are several characters with actual experience in being a leader! Smh.
