I don't think Yamcha's like that. He's the kind of guy who goes to sleep thinking that maybe tomorrow's the day, maybe he'll finally get his chance to shine, maybe he'll finally get to be the hero, maybe his hard work will finally pay off. He denies the reality around him, suppresses the emotions he should feel, and believes what he wants to believe instead of what he needs to. One or two arcs later it'll become to much for him to bear, and it'll all come out in once, one horrible midlife crisis.

Same as it ever was.

I don't think Goku not using the Kaioken was ever a thing. Goku called it an incomplete technique that he was working on and now he's better at it.

The show never implied that Merged Zamasu got weaker. He only got pissed off and one-shotted Vegeta. Also, Goku did damaged when a more fresh Trunks and Vegeta together didn't even burn Merged Zamasu's skin. Breaking his arms or not, that put him above Vegeta and Trunks.

When the entire world is at stake you'd think he would have fucking used it on Black before they became immortal beings. He didn't have to go x10 which was the most risky.

I hope the last two standing is Goku and Gohan, working together as Father and Son.

Gohan does something really big to level the playing field but gets himself taken out because of it - leaving it to a final showdown between Goku and Jiren.

He only did the Kaioken in that one moment as a last resort and fell out of after one attack. Not rocket science. He was also winning against Black with that rage boost before he suddenly powered up and blasted Goku in the chest.

Like I said, there was nothing about Goku not using the Kaioken anymore. That is just a narrator fans made up after King Kai say that Goku can forever hurt himself if he abused it. The same warning he gave Goku when he first learned the Kaioken.

The Kaioken was a last resort technique. Now that Goku is stronger, it isn't. Just like Goku could barely used Kaioken x3 but could go up to x10 on Namek without issue.

I mean, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with your points, but it adds nothing to what I said.

There were multiple moments in the Trunks saga where he should have used Kaioken to get ahead of Black (or Zamasu that was supposedly strong enough to hold him lol) and he didn't.

The situation was dire, that was the last resort ? Then use it. Using kaioken for one shitty kick on an immortal dude is pretty bad when he could have tried to go all out and kill Black in the first place.

Until the Buu saga, that is. That's when everything became dumb, screams and all.
The French dub wasn't that great in terms of translation, quality control and censorship, but they voice cast was on point.

Apperently not since he didn't used it until most of his limbs were disabled and Vegeta was down.

And using it against Black is a risk too since he can adapt like Hit and there's even a chance that he can used the Kaioken on top of Rose since it's basically Blue under a different color. He knows Goku other techniques.

But he almost got killed countless times, he got saved by Trunks or Vegeta and wasn't counting on it. That doesn't make any sense why he wouldn't use it at all, or to save himself.

"Oh no Zamasu is strong enough, let's do nothing, take a full blast, get incapacitated and then fucking die". Nice strategy.

That point doesn't work.

Black already knew all of Goku's techniques (and he saw Goku vs Hit), the point of a surprise kaioken attack was to take out Black before he could react and adapt to it. Could have used Vegeta as distraction.

On top of this, even if you think he was scared Black would copy his kaioken...

What's worse ?

- Using an all out attack on Black and try to kill him, having a chance to let him use it if it fails even though Black's lack of experience with the technique might actually kill him in the process

- Using an all out attack on Black's fusion that can't be killed and having a chance to let him use it because he's still Black and has infinite stamina in this form which means it could be even worse

Goku had trouble with Goku Black, after training Vegeta could wreck Black and Trunks was also able to fight Black. Vegeta and Trunks had a legit beam struggle were Zamasu was unable to win, there's no reason to think he wasn't hurt by it. Goku wasn't strong enough to win a beam struggle, but Zamasu was probably weakened just enough from the previous struggle for Goku to pierce his attack, though he broke his own arms anyways.
 
Somewhere during the Zamasu arc things got really weird in DBS

Series climax is baby pan and piccolo, might as well wrap it up
 
So has there been an official word over the past couple years whether or not GT is canon?

If that's the case, have they said anything about this series going into that time frame so Pan/Goten/Trunks/Bra/Marron can grow up?

AFAIK GT was never canon and i don't think they said anything about the future of DB

I don't think anyone's come out and said that GT isn't canon, but it is assumed at this point. They are going to take the story to End of Z, and they'll likely go beyond it.

Toriyama IIRC said it was an alternate timelime which imo is a way of saying non-canon unless you want it to be

The closest thing to a direct statement was Shueisha's timeline for the 30th anniversary site back during RoF's theatrical run not including any GT backstory elements, even though it had entries for Z anime filler (highlighted as such, separated from the manga content).

He said he saw the movies as stories taking place in alternate dimensions, not GT (although GT references Cooler and Movie 13).

But I was browsing youtube, and I saw they recreated trunks going ssj with death of Gohan.

That was the most low effort, yeeyaw lazy ass animation I think I've seen in a long while.

I get that the movie most likely had a way higher budget, but I saw better shit from early dragonball. Come on now.

And like no emotion at all. And why does Gohan look like he's sleeping?

That episode seemed to be mostly about introducing Trunks' backstory to people who didn't watch the original, so I guess they didn't worry about comparisons like that. Super certainly has had better directed and animated episodes than that one.

Suffered from being an in between episode, right before we started getting to the action in the future Trunks arc. And that scene was something they probably didn't want to waste a lot of time on/ put a lot of resources into.

While it wasn't animated well, I liked the idea behind it, that Trunks needed to accept that our Gohan isn't the same as his Gohan, and that's okay.

Nice after Z did it's best to waste that potential.

I mean, it's worst than the original version for sure, but if you think it's " the most low effort, yeeyaw lazy ass animation I think I've seen in a long while" then you should stay away from the rest of Super.
