So it would seem, at least so far, that in the manga, Toppo will be the Jiren, and in the Anime it's Jiren who is universe 11's ace? Are their roles reversed completely between the manga and anime? And if they are, does this mean that it truly doesn't matter at all who the god of destruction candidate for universe 11 is, and despite the buildup for Jiren, it's really the hidden universe 4 threat that is the ToP main event?

Well, we've already clearly witnessed major differences between Dragon Ball Super in the anime and manga, so I shouldn't be acting surprised. It will certainly be interesting to see where they take all this.

I don't think there's anything indicating their roles will be reversed. If you're referencing how Toppo is a GoD apprentice in the manga, his anime bio had that too, it was just never mentioned in the show for some reason.

yeah i think that it was foreshadowed the first time goku talked to him, when he dodged the bricks

I imagine that's what him not bothering to dodge those blocks was alluding to. His body just 'knew' it didn't need to move.

Yep, there's a strong indication Jiren has likely mastered the same ability or has more complete mastery, which combined with his insane ki and other abilities possibly gives him the edge still. We will see just how good Goku's mastery is in the episode.
