I think it happens when Goku is unconcious after being rescued from the explosion in Namek
the femKaiohshin rescues him and takes his dna or whatever to make xicor
she had made Freeza this way too, which is why Freeza was a mutant even for his race
The wiki which may or may not be reliable said it was due "deceitfulness and trickery "

Eh. That makes him stronger but never increases his stamina. It's always having to get healed.
I don't really blame people when they sidelined that form for 80 some episodes prior and pulled it out of nowhere again because "reasons" (read: we got a new Figurarts to sell.)

I don't really get where SSG is in terms of power though. During the fight against Jiren it was stronger than SSJ and SSJ2.
In the first arc after it's first use Goku "merged" with the form and so wasn't any weaker as SSJ.
It makes the whole thing with when he first fought Beerus dumb though. He lost the look but kept the power, but now he can look like it again even though he already kept the power. They should have just made the show version different then the movie by having Goku stay god until the fight with Beerus was over.
But I honestly don't care much.
He kept the power of Super Saiyan God, but can still turn Super Saiyan God. Thats what happened in the movie Battle of Gods.
Which destroys the point of what happened.

It's why I wished it disappeared because it gave a boost to his base it's how he fought Four months final form Frieza without transformation and did better against beerus than ss3 and probably what Vegito would have done (though that's me being generous)

Why bother cycling through from ss1 to ss2 to ssg if ss1=ssg though?
It's honestly because it was written for movie format first and they made it into a series later.

They probably didn't think they were gonna use the form again and now it's some "because of the training with Whis SSG is now stronger than SSJ1-3" kind of deal.

I think it just scaled up with the rest of his SS forms. I'm not really a fan of it being around either but I thought its use in the Dyspo episode was neat and made sense, less so in the Jiren one.
If it was up to me, post BoG I would've just folded all of Goku's SS stuff into SSB. Having him shuffle between all these forms just looks silly. In the latest manga chapter he goes from having SS hair to having a huge mane of hair to having his regular hair but red, to back to his SS hair but now blue all in the same fight, it just feels like it's reached parody levels lol
I would have just kept red and blue honestly and say the God ki transformed or changed his forms or whatever

Because all Super Saiyan form are multipliers of a Saiyans base form and not a set level.
In other words, Gokus base getting stronger makes all his Super Saiyan forms stronger, so the Super Saiyan God we see now is vastly stronger than the Super Saiyan God in the Battle of Gods Saga since Goku took in that energy and trained with Whis.
To put it another way:
Base form Goku Battle of Gods - 1
Super Saiyan God Goku - 10
Base form Goku after taking in Super Saiyan God - 10
Base form Goku going Super Saiyan God after absorbing it - 20

A better example would be how people reacted at Caulifla asking Goku about Blue. People lost their shit over it.
At least they double downed on SSG in the special.

It really isnt merchandising, not completely anyway, since Goku not using Super Saiyan God again didnt decrease the sells of Super Saiyan God toys. Just look at Vegito Blue despite him not even having an entire episode.
I've been rewatching the Namek saga (got past blu-ray set 1 but took a breather for a long time, now i'm finally getting back into it) and I love the tension throughout the whole thing.
Between Freeza and his henchmen not having a Dragon Radar so they have to use brute force to get out of the Nameks where the Dragon Balls are, to Vegeta hiding one and getting Zenkais and learning from earth, and the Namekians along with Gohan and Krillin hiding their power levels so it suprised Freezas henchmen.
Even though not everyone was as powerful, everyone going for the Dragon Balls all had some sort of advantage and used that as they were all hunting for them. It's so enjoyable to watch, and to build from that all the way into Gokus hopeless battle against Freeza up until when he turned Super Saiyan. The whole thing is just so masterfully done and enjoyable to watch from start to finish. (though I prefer the manga more due to the pacing being much better)

My assumption is in 114 that
Berserk Kale and SSJ2 Caulifla will both fire blasts at Goku to retrigger UI.
Best saga in all of DB. Everybody received development and Freeza was just on a different level of villainy compared to anyone before.
The scene where Vegeta got the shit kicked out of him by Freeza in front of the Z Senshi was crazy.
Dr. Rota is gone. U6 is doomed. They accept it.
When the big threat is Jiren, who cares about helping an enemy who has been nice to you the whole time, and has a form that has a time limit? Who else is going to take Jiren down?

Goku isn't so much fighting to regain his stamina, I don't think. I believe he's just in a bad way physically after his scuffle with Jiren, like he has trouble getting a feel for things, and he hopes a little sparring match with Caulifla will help him kind of loosen up and get back in the groove of things.
It's almost like trying to learn to walk again after some kind of operation. Goku looked like he was struggling with everything. He was totally powerless against that assault those namekians were going to launch on him.

I really hate the way they draw Caulifla and Cabbage. Both skinny as fuck and don't look strong at all. Also that preview for next week looks ridiculous with Cauliflas arse crack hanging out and ridiculously wide waist in comparison to the upper body.
