Dragon Quest 3 HD2D Sales Exceeded Expectations, Saved Square Enix's Console and PC Division

As someone who loves:
  • Dragon Quest
  • Turn based games
  • Square Enix
This is amazing news. Almost like not ignoring the biggest audiences for your games (PC, Nintendo), and having sensible budgets and marketing, can help your games to not flop.

Anyway, if you haven't played DQ3, this is your reminder to do so; it basically feels like a JRPG D&D campaign.

That's good news. Please let me know whenever something like Chrono Trigger HD 2D comes out.

'It also lead Square Enix's PC and console games division to return to profitability after a period of losses' does not mean the same thing as 'Saved Square Enix's Console and PC Division'.

The latter implies the division was at risk of being cut (and is no longer); the former flatly states only that the section has experienced losses over a long period.

Neat story, btw.

As a Dragon Quest fan, it warms my heart seeing it succeed. I hope we'll get DQ12 news on DQ Day. I bet we're gonna get a new trailer with a release date for Dragon Quest I & II: HD-2D Remake, at least.

Hopefully they feel like they can provide more information about DQXII now that they don't have to pretend that the Switch 2 doesn't exist.
