Famitsu is always late with DQ reviews. Square Enix doesn't allow them to publish them before the game is in stores. Since Japan's game mag scene is basically entirely controlled by the publishers, Famitsu has no choice but to comply.

(Funny how these mags are supposed to be informative when really they're just glorified PR machines.)

Who the hell would give GBA Yoshi a 10!? I'd laugh if it's the same person that gave DQ8 a 9, but they're usually different sets of people for consoles and handhelds.

1. Do you have a link for that Yoshi game? Is it the gravity one?

2. Giving to FIFA an higher score than Winning Eleven makes me think they are really corrupted :(

they've scored fifa higher in the past too....

Famitsu is shite as far as reviews are concerned IMO.

That's one of the lowest Famitsu scores I've ever seen. Anybody know the lowest score they've ever given out?

Glad you asked. The lowest total score is 11 (3,3,3,2) for some random PS fighting game whose name escapes me at the moment. I believe only three or four 2's have been given in Famitsu's long history.

A 2 in Famitsu is basically like a 0 in EGM... or a 50 in PSE2

I also remember that Famitsu was comically late on its Super Mario Sunshine review for some reason, even though other Nintendo reviews are always on time. I wonder why?

"Famitsu is shite for everything ... except II DENSHI!"

oh man, II DENSHI rocks.

Hasegawa met him a few weeks ago, we should try and arrange some sort of meet up!

Actually, what you should do is get him to write the back page of EGM instead of the novelist they got right now. Help them out, Mr. Ricciardi!

I've actually thought about trying to set that up, but I'm totally without power in the EGM power structure. If any of the EGM folks would be interested, tho, I think it would make EGM way cooler than it ALREADY IS!

II DENSHI > all other gaming comics to the infinity power.
