I spoke with Drew before the show. He actually remembered me from last time. He came up to me, shook my hand and asked if this was my fifth show. I corrected him and told him it was the sixth and he asked why I always came to see "this shitty band". After the small talk, I inquired about the new album. They came to a final decision record more tracks, which they will do after the tour. Drew is still anticipating a release in Jan/Feb. When I asked about future tours, mainly headlining shows and he said that it will happen immediately after the Deftones tour or in Early January. The show itself was great. Ode has not changed lyrically/musically, but it was more intense than the last time I heard it live. Bugeyes was equally great. Watching Dino play piano and drums at once is mind boggling!! During Not the Simple, I watched Dino carefully. He practically plays the whole song with one hand and does keyboard effects with the other. The only time he uses both hands is during the chorus. After the song ended, Gavin invited everyone backstage after the show to take a show with Dino, because the venue has a massive shower. According to Gavin, Dino has "a huge dick". (Too much info.) Tanbark was a very different experience tonight. The second verse is completely different and there was a new intro to the song. After the screaming part, the place went wild! During Yatahaze, Gavin had mic problems. The problems continued through to Hungover and Gavin had to steal Drew's mic to finish the show. He was visibly angry. When he finished, he threw the mic and kicked his table on the way offstage. Drew closed the show by playing Gavin's steel guitar with his bass while Dino played a simple beat with some keys thrown in. I spoke to Drew and found out this was dredg's first time "in the round". For those that don't know, that means a round stage in the middle of the venue the slowly rotates through the set. He was still dizzy.
