Part of the reason I payed for PS+ is the free games.
That is likely entirely what the long-term plans for PS+ were. Get people into the system with a "value" and then make that service a necessity on PS4. Their financials have absolutely nothing to do with this. They're a long-term company that probably has a 10-year plan or vision for the service platform.
Like its been said time and time again its the DriveClub severs not PSN.Stuff like this makes me question if i should keep paying for a flawed service.
Makes me sick seeing people defending this kind of stunt.

A demo is not a grand experiment. Demos have actually been utilized for a very long time.
So what. Will that stop me from playing SP?
Christ, quit splitting hairs. Everyone knows what people mean when they say Free PS+ games. The same as people understand what they mean when they say Free Amazon Prime shipping.Does not compute.
I signed up for PS+ before the MP leverage as it was an ok service
But the fact that it is forced on you to pay now makes this kind of shit pretty inexcusable
The reason people are mad is because we've been saying that for almost a year now. How many times should it be pushed back before people start getting annoyed that Sony can't keep their shit together?I understand everyone's frustration but I can't help but feel like in this particular case it's a huge over reaction to the delay. It's still coming and it's still free.

As for the game, i'm glad i didn't pre-order. Looks like we're in for the ''Flop Of The Year'' along with Watch Dogs.

I know I can't get enough of this 8bit "Next Gen" experience! They should just replace it with an indie game!
Because the game even in SP constantly tries to connect to the server for challenges and stuff. Giving out the PS + version would basically be DDoSing yourself.
How on earth are they not ready for launch after an 11 month delay? How incompetent is this studio?

Nah, I think a year is more then fine. If they had time to fix everything else with the game I don't see why a huge problem like this was left ignored. They knew people were going to download the Plus edition and even gave it another date of release. When you start delaying things on your service for a year and can't even get that right, I think it's perfectly reasonable to point out how bad the service you're paying for is.It should be pushed back two more times, then go nuts.
Watch Dogs was a flop?
I think you're definitely entitled to the game, but I think the outrage is a little overblown. If they said they're not going to release it then the outrage would be the right thing. You should definitely be upset by it but I think the scale of the outrage is a little much for just the the extra free game this much being delayed for a day or two.
I didn't like it -or- I heard bad things about it = flopWatch Dogs was a flop?
It has nothing to do with the studio.

What other demo has a platinum trophy?
In my opinion it was, mediocre gameWatch Dogs was a flop?

Has Microsoft had any delays for an Xbox 1 game due to server issues?
Watch Dogs was a flop?
You're absolutely right.
That said, I'm upset because for more than a year—a year!—DriveClub has been advertised as a bold new model for PS Plus. And it was never said that the game would be available after the full version. In fact, it was advertised as being available on October 7.
Now the full version is released. But the PS Plus Edition was never available for download—not even for an instant. That tells me Sony planned all along to hold it back if servers struggled to handle the load.
So, after more than a year of promises, Sony delayed its grand experiment due to its own technical incompetence—with zero communication of why. Yet the full version is still available for purchase and download. PS Plus users are left as second class customers.
So much for a bold business model.

you're not paying for pS+ to get games, is to play MP games, free games are part of the program plus as far as i know no one is forcing you to subscribe, if you're in it put up with it, as simple as that
DC isn't even that good to begin with. Move along, nothing to see here. Save PSN meltdowns for amazing games, please.

Watch Dogs was a flop?
AhaIt was for me.
Actually...it doesnt.
Man, the whole DriveClub project seems like something I bet they wish they never embarked on. It's been a huge mess from top to bottom which is a damn shame.
Because it was supposed to come out last year on the service I'm paying for? They marketed it as a huge launch day free game as long as you were a PS+ member (And at the time, it was supposed to be a much meatier version of the game). What does the original Driveclub release push back have to do with "the service you're paying for"? It's not like they only pushed back the PS+ version.
If the servers are frequently pinged even in single-player mode, and failing out as a result, then wouldn't this lead to a suboptimal and disappointing experience for anyone attempting to play the game?
Nope this is their dream game.As much as I appreciate Evolution doing a new IP, it makes me wonder if the collective minds over there wish they would have just made a fancy next-gen MotorStorm instead. :/
