i think peoples skepticism comes from the fact they both have big movies coming out, he's pushing the scientology angle non stop, and katie holmes has now joined his cult.

finest actors? personally, i think tom cruise is horribly overrated as an actor - to me, he appears to play the same character in every movie, and doesn't convince me at all. but hey - that's just me.

How exactly would this relationship be a publicity stunt when she isn't even advertised as being in the movie? The only way you know is from all the talk show gossip saying "Hey, Tom Cruise is in War of the Worlds, and his new girlfriend is in Batman!"

thats the thing. the pr stunt doesnt necessarily have to promote the movie.. its promoting katie holmes. who at the moment is NOT an A list actor. the constant talk of her new relationship is used to push katie in the minds of the masses, make her more marketable and thus help out her future career.
