Its a slow burn, but has a satisfying progression imo.I just bought it in an impulse. Lets see if I don't regret
I tried to but the books were such a snooze fest. Good to fall asleep though. My love of the Dune universe compelled me to read the prequel novels.
All of them.
I'm gonna end up buying it and regretting it for sure.

No, Rust is a PVP game, where the PVP combat is the sole focus. Dune is a mix of MMO and Survival Crafting. It has PvE and PvP areas that are separated. It can be played as a PvE game if you want to avoid the PvP entirely, though, the highest tier loot comes from the PvP zones. The game has simple dungeons in the form of the Testing Stations, which range from short 5 minute little underground base sweep and clears, to hour long winding dungeons through deserted missile silos. NPC MMO quest lines exist, in the form of contracts, and the game has a simple faction system where you can pick from one of two factions. There's a main story, which is your typical MMO main story, but it's nicely delivered. Right now, I'm playing it like a mix between World of Warcraft and The Division, with some base building and resource gathering on top.Looks cool so I wanted to see what it is but it's just another rust like game right?
I was hoping for more traditional mmo activities like dungeons and raids.
I am still very early in the game (didn't have much time lol). But I've been hearing that the endgame for PvE is essentially dead, unless you build a guild and PvP.93,7 Hours ingame so far, love it! Playing only Solo. Buggy with laser is goty, assault chopper is majestic.
Havent touched Deep Desert yet, just doing all contracts, farming aluminium and other important resources. My plan is to have materials for 3 or more scout choppers. so when i go to deep desert, loosing one isnt really gonna hurt. Scout choppers you can also put in youre pocket, so if you get attacked you have time to land and put it there, and then you wont loose it. My assault chopper though, cant be placed in the tool. What i hear about Deep desert is that its just scout choppers vs scout choppers. RNG if ones server is heavy on organiced pvp or not.I am still very early in the game (didn't have much time lol). How has been your experience with the endgame?
Just a word: one of the Landsraad boons is that death in the Deep Desert causes all items - equipped items included - to drop. Check if it's active for that week before you go in.Havent touched Deep Desert yet, just doing all contracts, farming aluminium and other important resources. Oh damn, thx for the notice!Just a word: one of the Landsraad boons is that death in the Deep Desert causes all items - equipped items included - to drop. Check if it's active for that week before you go in.
Everything will be much faster once you get the bike, its soon!Vibes are cool but the game is ultra shallow so far. I'm supposed to make my way to the first trial and I'm basically running from rock formation to rock formation, killing bandits when I run into them.
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to build mini-buildings along the way, seems like a waste of time and resources?
I dunno, feels like I'm missing something.

Pretty similar from a core mechanics perspective, with a few really nice QOL features (eg crafting will automatically pull from all storage containers, inventory or stations)How similar is this to Conan Exiles? I liked what little I played of that
It's teaching you that you're supposed to move on and build new bases as you progress through the zones![]()
Bruh you can't make a game that largely revolves around base building and then rugpull players after 8 hours by having them abandon their base, lmao. What the fuck.
But all kidding aside, the game is good. Good pacing, good vibe. Typical MMO mindless busywork nonsense but so far I'm enjoying myself.

They were pretty terrible in general, but as a follow up to Herbert's original work they were positively abysmal.
Isn't this game supposed to be out on all platforms? I don't see it on either console storefront.
It's teaching you that you're supposed to move on and build new bases as you progress through the zones
Also there is a replicator tool so you can essentially copy/paste your base
Predatorory? The game is not available to children, unless you are suggesting grown adults are being tricked in some way? This 'early access for a week but priced higher' is so predatory and microsoft consistently does it as well. Just charge 70 to all players and release it at the correct time instead of pretending 'early access'
There is no phasing? WoW did this when - 10 years ago?Caved in and bought this thing but there is something that confuse me, i already had almost all main missions completely ruined by strangers because they killed all the enemies moment before i enter the zone, how the fuck are people ok with this?
Is this gonna be a thing with this game? Not being able of doing any story mission normally because people can just complete them in front of me?
Not sure what phasing is but random players are ruining every big story mission for me.There is no phasing? WoW did this when - 10 years ago?

I joined the main server for europe, the one with the smallest ping and first on the list, the game told me it was the best server to use. What? Maybe you have joined some weird server? I haven't had this issue at all
Phasing is exactly that - for story missions you get put into your separate instance where you don't see other players and can experience the story. It was done ages ago in WoW because with each expansion the starting zones were swarmed with players and you waited hours to do a single quest. They also did that you barely hitting the mob once gave you its loot. Not sure what phasing is but random players are ruining every big story mission for me.
Survival Pseudo MMO.What kind of game is this again? I love Dune, so I'll probably check it out. Unless it's a multiplayer gaas game or something.
is it worth it to play alone? can you even play together outside pvp?

I think you just sold me on this game.Been playing it quite a bit and starting to really love it.
It's exactly what i wished online games would be, mostly co-op, server meshing instances, bits of PvP sprinkled in if you want.
but mostly you just see people going around doing their own thing, it makes the world feel dynamic and interesting.
It's what i wished Destiny would eventually be and it's the natural evolution of MMOs and to me the direction they should have gone.
Conan Exiles was too much like rust and other mmo survival games for me to like but this game is nailing everything.... just not the melee combat which is clunky as hell.
EDIT: Honestly you give me this in DS or BoTW/TotK and i'd love it, just seeing some dude in the distance of TotK building his little car and he zooms away and you never see him again, thats the type of online stuff i want in games. This sweaty PvP extraction shit is so boring.
look the gameplay, especially the melee can be janky.I think you just sold me on this game.
You might want to give WoW a try now with it's one button rotation since the new patchPretty steep difficulty curve, especially for someone like me who's able to play like 2 hours an evening.
It will be no longer after the next patch which is already on the test server. The first few row in the deep desert will be PvE onlyI want to buy this… but I'm hearing it'a pvp focused in end game. Is this correct?
