Dune: Awakening - Review Thread

Is there a lot of crafting and base buolding or i can just play as an open world action rpg with sidequest, mainquest etc.

The combat looks terrible, what is actually good on the game if i'm not really a dune fan at all?
Well I'm confused because your quote has my name but another poster's content

But anyway, crafting, exploration and questing are the real meat & potatoes of the game. You don't need to do a TON of base building (if you don't want) but a lot of the quest rewards are money + materials for crafting to build better gear and vehicles.

Also the combat isn't terrible. Stop watching YT/Twitch streams of people still in the tutorial zone (Hagga Basin, first 3-4 hours). The weapons you craft in that part are junk and you'll build much better stuff after you leave. Abilities add quite a bit to combat as well and there are a lot more enemy types and combat mechanics through the game.

Example: Shielded enemies are annoying to engage with until you get shield break guns, buuut I have a grav well ability that basically holds them in place so I just drop that on them then go behind and stab in the back with my upgraded blade for a 1-hit kill.

It's not going to set the world on fire but it's certainly competent and engaging.

Sorry for the quote mistake, i didn't watched much of the combat to judge the indeepth mechanics, it just look janky as fuck animation wise, i'm a dude that care a lot about the feeling and meatiness of the combat and killing people in this game just look bad\unsatisfying, i'm sure that it gets mechanically better later but the animations are gonna remain weak all the way through.

Thanks for the explanation tho.

so am i supposed to build multiple bases? because the very first thing they have you do after you build a face is run 5 miles across the desert and then back to your base lol

You move up north so yes, but you can save a blueprint of your base and you can easily rebuild it. Also if you are not that creative at building like me, you can also buy blueprints from players that are good at it and can build a good looking base :)
