Dusty Rhodes

- He is signed to a Legends contract and has verbally agreed to work with WWE’s Creative Team.

- He’s very close to signing on the dotted line and that “[officially] signing with WWE is just a formality”. He met with WWE’s current Creative Team and sees this as a great opportunity to work with the young minds at WWE and to contribute his own style and philosophies to the product.

- This is a chance for him to really see what’s going on in the industry. Dusty used a phrase which I read Jimmy Hart use on WWE.com, and that was - the future is the past. He thinks the business has evolved too much and things need to be brought back to basics. Today’s product shouldn’t be radically different than what it was 10 years ago - it should be an updated version of the basic principles that have stood for decades and made wrestling great. He spoke passionately about the business as a whole and that there are several things that need to be changed. He sounded excited at the opportunity to work with WWE in its current state, which clearly has a lot of work that needs to be done.

- Dusty spoke very highly of Stephanie, saying she is a lot like her father in her understanding of the business.

- This is an opportunity, some of which come later in life than others, to play again for the Yankees. The Yankees are the greatest franchise in the history of sports and World Wrestling Entertainment is the greatest company in the history of sports entertainment. WWE is a tremendous, huge company.

- One thing he wants to do before he retires is wrestle Ric Flair at a houseshow one more time. He said he didn’t care if it was only a 1-night thing, but he seemed to be very excited about the chance to face Flair before he officially retired.

Overall it was a very good interview and Dusty seems hungry to prove himself. There are not many bookers around today with more experience than Dusty and it’s clear he has a vision for how to turn things around for WWE

look for those double dq, count out, and double face turns main events!

Whatever Dusty Rhodes does (or does not do), it won't be as bad as Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio for custody of a small boy.

Ugh... remember how great that feud started and the great match those two had on Smackdown? Then they decided to drag it.
And supposedly after Summerslam, JBL and Batista are still going to feud and so are Rey and Eddie.

Bloody hell. How does this mumblemouthed idiot keep getting work?
I hate Dusty as a booker as much as anyone else, but he CAN'T be any worse than the legion of Hollywood Writer Monkeys that Steph has employed to ruin the product. And I actually agree with a lot of what he says is wrong(just not on how he will probably go about "fixing" it).

Well its not like the creative team can get any worse...I trust his ideas over the damn soap opera writers they have now.

Bionic Elbow my ass!

Dusty and Flair had some brutal bloody matches back in the day. Dusty had soo much scar tissue on his forehead, a light tap could break him open.

Eh, Dusty was responsible for me getting to see four [female] boobs once. Before an ECW show I was at, he brought a couple girls into the ring and had them flash the crowd. As bad a booker as he might be, at least he's not all bad.

BTW, I dig the Minowa avatar, 3kuSaS. Is that during the mullet era even? Japanese mullets > *

Atleast Dusty has a wrestling background. Something really missing on the booking team now. I do like this qoute:

Now, that might just be lipservice. But I do hope for the best.

It's lipservice. You think Steph et al are going to let him do anything that Ted DiBiase, Ron Simmons, Sgt Slaughter and other wrestlers-turned-backstage-agents haven't already suggested?
