There's a lot of stuff this week.

Complete list

B0006HBV3M.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

(If this box is like the Warner Scorsese box and the Warner Film Noir box, the films will have superior audio and video, but be a little short on extras, without even an accompanying insert in the case--still, for the price, they're worth it.)

Guilty pleasure of the week:
B0006GAOSQ.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

B0006IIKS0.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Double-dipping SE:

B0006ZE7G2.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

B0006BGWR8.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

B0002ZMHX6.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Also, too many TV seasons to have an image for each one:

MacGyver S1
One Tree Hill S1
Coupling S4
Father Murphy S2
Jamie Kennedy S3
Men Behaving Badly S2
Saved By the Bell: The New Class S1
The Wire S2

Joke disc of the week--this DVD beats out clear garbage like S S Experiment or Sexmission, just because of its title:

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.

Did Pink Floyd: The Wall SE get a new transfer or is it just the old disc with more features?

I'm gonna pick up Batman: Vol 2 and Superman: Vol 1 this week, along with the Jonny Quest: Season 1 set so that I can make use of that $15 rebate.

What the hell? How about finishing up the FIRST series of SBTB on DVD first, assholes.

Looks like a new hi-def transfer. From Amazon:

Track List:
1.Original film presented in high-definition widescreen and mixed in 5.1 surround sound
2."The Other Side Of The Wall" - a 25 minute documentary about the making of the film
3."Retrospective" - an exclusive 45 minute retrospective documentary of interviews with Roger Waters, Alan Parker, Gerald Scarfe, Peter Biziou, Alan Marshall and James Guthrie
4.Original film trailer and production stills

They claim it's a limited edition, but I doubt it's that limited.

I thought they finished up the SBTB series?

They did the high school years.. then college... am I missing something?

*Edit*
Also for me, it's Batman: TAS Vol 2 and Superman: TAS vol 1.

The Season 3 & 4 DVD set was missing a bunch of episodes. Not to mention the movies never came out on DVD.

Why in the world would anyone buy AvP?

I always wondered why Monster was so heavily pushed for the kind of movie that it is; the double dip explains it. I enjoyed the movie but I don't know if it's something I'd ever want to own or watch again in particular.

probably cause Charlize Theron won an Oscar. Movies almost always get huge pushes after they win Academy Awards.

So whats best deal on Batman and Superman sets? $45 together would be nice. Plus there is $5 WB rebate for each title.

Looks to me like Wal-Mart and Target will have them for about $31.50 and $18.50, respectively. Then you can use the $10 rebate, as found here.

FYI, Best Buy has them for $35 and $20.

YES! Couldn't wait for this release since the last. Such an amazing series I got back into with the dvd's. Can't believe I went so long without it.

Only possiblities for me this week are Metallica: Some Kind of Monster and the rerelease of the BTTF box set. Sky Captain and AVP were garbage.

Oh fuck yeah. I was just gonna post this.

Gotta pick up Batman as well. And The Wire, but then I still don't have S1.
Oh man, I've been looking forward to Songbook all month. Hopefully Borders or something will carry it; they've carried the other SFA DVDs.

I can't wait to watch the little documentary.

This is what I found. Looks like a run to CC for me.
Circuit City:
$29.99 for BTAS Vol. 2
19.99 for STAS Vol. 1
Best Buy:
$34.99 for BTAS Vol. 2
$19.99 for STAS Vol. 1

In case anybody doesn't know and they use Amazon on a semi-frequent basis, they killed their Share the Love program (10% off books, DVDs and - I think - music) a few days ago.

They were the first place I'd go to get must-have-it-today boxsets, so now that's out the window. DDD 20% off coupon deals 4 LYFE.

The first Batman Box set was in production order. Check TVTome.
Yup, they decided to do it in production order so people could see the evolution of the series, rather than the bizarre order they aired in. Personally, I think that makes the most logical sense. It is, after all, the order the creators were aiming for. I'm not really sure why anyone would want it any other way.

Any reason known for why this was ended?

Prospero said:
You didn't say that because that deal is going on right now, did you?

No.

I'm basically going to wait around until those deals pop up to buy anything that isn't completely essential the moment it comes out (which is pretty much everything for me).

I haven't seen an official reason (I haven't gone looking for one either), but it's probably because they want to cut any potential money losing programs. I think they'll regret it, but we'll see.

(BTW, I can't seem to edit my own post, otherwise I would've posted this in my previous post. Anyone else having the problem or is it just me?)

Ever since that last DDD deal, that's been my policy as well. I'm going to milk that place as much as I can until it goes bankrupt.

Is there anything different on the single releases of the new Spiderman cartoon?

I've always wondered why they released a season set for like 25 bucks, then have the theme volumes afterwards. do they add tons of features?

Sky Captain was a fun little film, but I can't justify purchasing it. I don't think I would watch it ever again.

Only one thing for me this week:
B0006GQMCI.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

$14.99 shipped from DeepDiscountDVD, can't beat that.

They're probably just trying to double and triple dip a bunch of unaware suckers.
