Dying Light 2 delayed till Feb 4th 2022

I guess it comes to politics, you know, shareholders kept calm etc.
Its out of control. The first dying light came out more than 6 years ago. If they are taking almost a decade between releases than this industry has a huge problem with scope and time frames that needs better management.

I don't like it either but maybe it is part of some weird marketing? It's better if people will talk bad about your product instead of not talking about it at all.

Good move to be honest. It looks fantastic but will be overshadowed by Halo Infinite. Move the date, playtest the shit out of it and remove any additional bugs, release at the appropriate time.

It's a single-player game being sandwiched between Elden Ring, Pokémon and Horizon 2. The new date is worse for them, the game's just not ready.

Yeah thankfully early 2022 looks absolutely free and there are no big games planned for that window besides Elden Ring, Pokemon Arceus, Horizon Forbidden West, Forspoken, Gran Turismo 7, Ghostwire Tokyo, major expansions for gigantic games like Rainbow Six Siege and Destiny 2. Good to have dodged Halo Infinite :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_beermugs:

We could probably throw in some Sifu, GTA V PS5, Monster Hunter Rise, Saints Row, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, but who is keeping count

man this would have been great for the holidays. I'll be busy with elden ring and Horizon Forbidden West so i'll hold off. Maybe it's cheaper then too

Sadness is real.

"Techland takes the welfare of our staff seriously and we are always evaluating ways that we can learn and improve - that is the key to long-term success. We expect all our employees to set a good example and treat others the way they would expect to be treated themselves. To support that, we are starting a series of different training sessions [this year], including with specialists from outside our organisation. It is important that all of our employees know that we do not discriminate against anyone based on gender, colour, or sexual orientation."

They got invaded by SJWs. All development efforts from that point onward were seriously hampered.

Disappointing. Probably THE game I'm looking forward to most right now. But if it needs more time, it needs more time. I can wait a while longer.

2 month delay doesn't guarantee it won't be bugged, CP 2077 9 months after the release is still broken AF.
They are still 2 additional months of betatesting and not every studios works like cd project.

Dying light 1 was fairly well optimized at launch if my memory doens't betray me.

I know people love to call this game a development hell, but i still trust techland to deliver a great game.

The game is big and ambitious, you need time to make everything perfect with so many mechanics etc.

I was actually leaning towards getting it in December but now I don't even know when looking all that's in the menu Q1 next year. Hoping it's good and worth the wait

Congrats. Now you are in between Elden Ring and Horizon Forbiden West. Good night and good luck.
Stay hoooooooman.

Such a stupid fucking addition to the number 2. Stay huuuuuuman. Its fucking sooooooo annoying everytime i see it i have to exaggerate the stupid addition.

This is a bummer as I was really hoping to have a good December game, and it looked good. Oh well. My thoughts now are who is going to swerve first in the game of February chicken releases? Its so packed, not that I mind. But I bet a few will change their dates.

there's goes y birthday treat o well I will just need to keep my switch oled and Metroid prime till then , I guess I saved some money lol

Victim of being previewed WAY too early. WAY too early. That initial reveal had so much that they were never possibly going to be able to deliver.

I'm still down to clown, I'll be done with Elden Ring within 2 weeks probably and the new Pokémon has a lot to prove.
Hard to say with Elden Ring since its an open world now. I expect its gonna be a month to really be done with it.

They are putting it in a packed month for now, at least.

I doubt Horizon will get delayed, Elden Ring on the other hand…

Has From ever delayed a game? Honestly I feel Horizon is more likely to be delayed again than Elden Ring, it's probably ready now and just being polished. From knew exactly when it's product would be ready

Fans looking for more information on Dying Light 2 may be able to glean some more data from the Pan Europen Game Information group's listing for the title. The game's page on the site shows the game received a PEGI 18 rating, which is to be expected given the bloody action of the first game. The rating states that the game includes graphic violence, decapitation and dismemberment, and detailed blood and gore effects, as well as strong language.

The game's PEGI listing also cites the game's purchasable in-game items, such as additional weapons and outfits, hinting that micro-transaction may be a bigger part of Dying Light 2 versus the original title. Finally, the PEGI info page also mentions a character in the game taking his own life by jumping from a tower, should the player character be unable to stop him, teasing possible branching outcomes and narratives, a big part of the game.

While a PEGI '18' rating was likely anticipated by Dying Light fans, the fact the game now has a concrete assessment by the European rating board bodes well for the game hitting its upcoming release date in early 2022. The listings' mention of microtransactions is interesting as well, as the first Dying Light title did not feature much in the way of in-game items purchasable with real money when it was first released, although they have been added to the title over time.
