E3 2005 Floorplans Posted

I wouldn't call it a Cafe but it is a pretty massive area that You're Not Allowed In(tm). The years I went Nintendo just had lackeys serving up Smoothies and stuff. I never entirely understood why they did that, but it seems to work for 'em...

Heh, the smoothie thing hasn't died off then, cause they were doing that at their booth in the GDC. Although you had to play a DS to get a smoothie and a T-shirt.

Last year, you couldn't see the cafe area from the floor. It was raised up on a second level, obscured by... things. And actually it wasn't so much a cafe as it was a second space full of DS kiosks with an open bar.

This year, with no DS theater necessary, maybe they'll return to the open cafe? Dunno.

It's a good thing that Vivendi is in between EA and Ubi Soft cause all hell could have broken loose and/or a buyout right on the show floor.

Ooh Konami next to Namco next to Sega it's gonna be an arcade brawl. I like this years layout. If not for Sony, Nintendo, and Tecmo the West Hall would be a complete waste of time. I don't know why Tecmo doesn't move toward the South Hall with everyone else. Take 2 is all over the convention center.

Sony's booth is probably the biggest again since it is always the only one that is two stories high. It's hard to tell how MS's booth compares because South Hall is a lot bigger than West Hall.

Weird, I dont remember the booth being two stories high last year. Of course, maybe I couldn't see that section from Nintendo's booth.

It was during E3 2003. They had an awesome setup which was much less cluttered and much less awkward than Nintendo's booth.

Nintendo's booth wasn't cluttered last year either. They had the major games out in front, and a few rows of the less important games behind. They had that large space in the center though which was saved for the line to see the DS.

I just hope MS's setup isn't as annoyingly cramped as last years. I think I spent a total of 5 mins at MS just because it was hard to even breathe, let alone play a game there.

Wanna pretend you're at E3 because you can't get in? Or perhaps you want to plan your trip because you are allowed in. Either way, the E3 Website has posted the floorplans for the show this year.

Sega is out of the dog house and in with the big boys this year.

Actually, the "big boys" (hardware/console maker's) are alway's in the West Hall where Sega traditionally use to be...just to the left of Sony and Nintendo.

I wonder why MS hasn't taken over Sega's traditional old spot instead of staying in the South Hall which is traditionally for 3rd party developer's?

Bahaha no Infinium Labs. There's a shocker.

Their website is still up but no sign of the Phantom. I laughed my ass off when my friend wore that 'I BELIEVE!!!!!' shirt in from basketball at lunch the other day. :lol

Traditionally maybe, obviously not anymore.

I would assume because Sega's old spot doesn't provide enough space. Plus I think they get an advantage for being on the hall with all the 3rd party developers.

Bethesda has it's own booth!

Steve are you guys going to do private showings of the game or anything else related? Man I can't wait to play Oblivion!

Kentia Hall is looking to have another wonderful!

Sony wasn't two-stories in 2004. Well, their meeting rooms were, but so were Nintendo's. In 2002 and 2003 they had a raised second story with a few more games on it.
