Strikers, Paper Mario, Twilight Princess, Mario Kart and Galaxy are all awesome so "whoring out" is a stupid thing to say.

Furthermore, the bitching was that Nintendo has abandoned all their classic franchises which that post clearly proves they have not.
 
I'm as disappointed as everybody else is, but I wouldn't even begin to contemplate Wii's downfall or my selling of the system.

Through rumors, leaks, and common sense we know stuff like Kid Icarus Wii, Pikmin 3, etc. are in development. We also know that the Mario and Zelda teams are "hard at work" on new games.

I'm just baffled at no teaser trailer, announcement, or anything. I mean, God of War III got away with just having a pre-rendered FMV announcement and that wasn't really anything to get excited for because the game wasn't shown off.

I also think people who downplay Animal Crossing are going to get snipped in the ass. Animal Crossing is as hardcore or casual as one makes it out to be. I mean, the game is so simple and relaxing in premise, but the fanbase is huge.

Then I go check out something like GameFAQs and see how populated the board is.

I think Animal Crossing is like Pokemon, in that they're both easy to go through the motions but hard to "be good" at. You can easily tell the difference between people who spend time playing the games and those who just casually play them and let them sit on their shelves after.

They almost certainly are for this E3, but considering their recent pattern, it's a safe bet that they'll have another event in the next few months where they'll make announcements more to GAF's liking.
 
Animal Crossing is neither "core" nor is it "casual" its is a "bridge" title.

I know that sounds like picking nits and I am surely dissapointed by the seemingly lacking innovation in the game. Still, it defintely lives in the same place as Mario Kart and the Sims. Its does not live in the same place as Wii Sports or Tetris.

the links crossbow training thing was a cheap packin that they have thrown in

it was not a real game and more of a bonus disc

fan service if you will

and if you think that Mario RPG and Mario KArt are the same franchise then you really need to go somewhere else
 
I still have some unrealistic faith in something big being announced at the conf, but realistic me is kicking my nuts

Thanks. Actually it was misspelled before I posted it and in fixing it I typoed :P. It's fixed now.

It doesn't cancel the terrible press conference. it's just a little light in the deep darkness. I suppose it's great news, but this E3 is and remains a big disappointment for any standard.

Not if you're the casual, mainstream press it doesn't. Which is what this show was for. Well, those, and investors. Nintendo does not think of E3 as being for gamers, no matter how much you do. Stop being so dramatic; it's ridiculous.

It's entertaining but sort of strange considering we've already seen a Mario, Zelda, and Metroid core game on the Wii. You should make one for Sony in which their 1st party support is next to non-existent. I think it'd be more accurate.

Seriously. Ravi was so off, so terrible, and really made the product look poor from the first moment they showed him playing. I was groaning as he played. At such an important moment, give the reigns to someone like this dude who clearly knows what the heck he's doing.

After seeing that, yeah, I feel better about the drum system. I wish there'd be some sort of similar revelation about the rest of the instruments, whose playing system still appears to be rather pointless and random at the moment.

Like Fat Princess, R&C: Quest for Booty, LBP and Resistance 2 for Q3-Q4? Non existant indeed (and I say this as a Nintendo fan). Nintendo's first party Wii line-up for the rest of the year is pathetic.

Disaster is of an unknown quality, and I doubt Fatal Frame (by Tecmo, not really a nintendo game) will come to Europe this year.

HAL_Laboratory is a game journalist, why would he know why they didn't show a game or not at E3? He's going off what he has heard and even if it comes from Retro themselves it means shit because Nintendo Japan decides what is shown and when.

Definitely you HAVE to play with Metroid Corruption. The art dsign is stunning and the gameplay is unsurpassed on Wii for what concern First Person View.

I'm so disappointed that Retro's new game is still in the shadow. And HAL_Laboratory still hasn't given a single decent explication.
