E3 2011 Sony Conference Thread [Over]

If your outside the US, your being asked to fork over a lot more. Closer to an iPad in price than a 3DS if this sticks.

No Dark Souls.
No Journey.
No Last Guardian.
Horrid Vita name.

But the Vita price is very reasonable. But if early PSP adoption has taught me anything, I know I'll wait to see if it actually gets support before I dive in this time.
 
The fuck? That's it?!?! They didn't announce a single new PS3 game, for fucks sake!
And The Last Guardian and Journey were nowhere to be seen.
Only good stuff was the Uncharted 3 demo, Resistance 3 demo, "official" Sly 4 announcement, and some of the Vita stuff (including awesome price).

For a 90 minute conference, that's not much at all. I didn't expect that much PS3 stuff, considering the new handheld, but I at least expected a couple big new game announcements. Fuck this shit.
 
I'm not really interested in handheld or motion controls, but this was still a better conference than Microsoft's. Although they could probably have cut out the drummers and the dj at the end.

Kaz really needs to get on that corporate jet to London to get some bespoke suits made for him. Hope he's ok, health wise, cause the suit made him look ghastly.
 
VERY DISAPPOINTED that the PSV is going to be getting X Game Voice Chat, and that feature has still to this day not been announced for the PS3

Agree. If you were interested only in the Vita, then it was Ok, especially with the price point. If you were only a console PS3 owner, I guess 2 good games was it. Resistence and Uncharted.

Fuck me, but this was worse that the MS conference. At least MS showed some fucking variety, some new features for the system and yeah alot of kinect stuff, but some cool intergration kinect stuff. But this is the Sony thread and to me, I lvoed the Uncharted footage. I am not a big portable fan, so half of the shit I could care less.
 
Ah, I can see why PS3-only or console-only gamers might be disappointed in this conference. Nothing outside of Uncharted 3 came close to piquing my interest. PSVita looks awesome, though, and I'm super pumped for that.
 
I agree, we sit here and look for leaks and investigate. Not surprised we know everything beforehand. I enjoyed the conference and thought it catered to my tastes. The Vita shit sold me, and the price just made shit real for me.

I'd give it a B+ because I really wanted to get some footage of Last Guardian and maybe some other stuff. I won't hold it against them.

On content alone the MS conference was shite.
 
What did you all think of the Sony conference?

From an Xbox 360 owner's perspective it looked good, but I don't know if you guys knew about all that stuff already or not.

People seem to forget that at recent E3s, details on other future titles often come out throughout the expo and not just the conference.

I love the notion a conference is only worthwhile if there's shock value. I rather have the announcements spaced out and let them breath (like seeing wipeout and Uncharted PSV early)

i'd be thrilled with a 249 Vita if it had a game worth being excited for. You say Nintendo is screwed but they have games people actually will want to buy coming out for the 3DS. Sony just has the same tepid franchises for the last five years.

Yeah not enough good games shown... too many crapping move games... vita price saves conference.
 
I would call that a ok conference. nothing amazing. nothing overly embarrassing. Only problem I had was I was expecting a better ending :/


MILES better then that MS show but e3 is Nintendos game to lose at this point.
 
This was way better than Microsoft.

Almost everything MS showed was horrible, no surprises besides Halo 4 (which was barely anything at all).

There was barely anything at Sony's press conference that I would consider horrible, especially compared to the MS press conference. The NGP price is amazing, and that alone catapults it over Microsoft.
