E3 2011 Sony Conference Thread [Over]

Goddamnit Sony, all I want from this industry is The Last Guardian. Why do you torture us so?

Sly 4 was nice though, and I accept the offering.

Something in me tells me that Gamescom is going to be massive for Sony.

They've definitely held off on PS3 announcements, and we still know fuck all of the Vita's 3rd party support, PlayStation Suite etc.

Surely a livestreamed conference on the way.

Sadly I am not a portable gaming fan so I sort of got bored and there is something very clinical about Sony's press conference. While not bad I would say in the B range for me.

For me the MMO they announced perked up my ears.. and of course uncharted was great .. those were my highlights.

Vita stuff was awesome, but really? No Last Guardian? No Agent? As a PS3 owner, I'm definitely disappointed. Can't believe they gave 5 minutes of time to that terribad Medieval game.

Fucking pissed that they barely showed PS3 shit except stuff we've already seen. Uncharted 3 wasn't as good as last year's presentation either. Conference was incredibly disappointing I don't give a shit about Move and 80% of the conference was wasted time.

With that being said, oh my @ a Bioshock on PSV (Bioshock is my favorite game this gen, I can't say enough about the Bioshock universe and Ken Levine) and also 250 and 300. Day one like everyone else has said. That shit just curb stomped 3ds without a doubt imo especially considering it'll have Uncharted at launch, maybe LBP as well, and hopefully some good 3rd party stuff. Disappointed that we didn't see a COD though.

Without the 250$, SF x Tekken, Ken Levine, and Ico/Shadow in September the conference would've been a disaster for me personally, but that stuff saved it for me. I was really expecting something like God of War 4 or Agent (where the fuck is this game? seriously?), GTA5 etc. something new and big.

I can't believe there wasn't a "One More Thing."

$249 is fine, but seriously, that was overall boring. And I still can't believe there wasn't some type of teaser or demo of a megaton game at the very end.

Great, now we're going to have faux-3DS "remorse". Look people, despite the narrative some folks tried to push, the 3DS was not overpriced at $250. There's too much tech in it, especially with that screen. It wasn't a great price, but not a bad one either.

What has actually happened here is simple: Sony is throwing the Vita out below what *anyone* dared imagine they would. The 3DS didn't "fuck up" - Sony decided to get serious and bring the adamantium claws out.

Now we have a real fight on our hands. Not this imaginary bullshit we usually see people make up.

3DS has the same thing going for it that the DS did: it's going to be getting Those God Damn Nintendo Games That Sell 30 Million Units and Just Keep Selling More. This is a ware of software now.

And before anybody goes more crazier, bear in mind that Vita is tasked with the same burden the PSP had: its software development time, complexity, and budget are going to run over into present day console territory. Which means we're going to see a lot of cross platform ports and "companion" titles that conveniently reuse assets.

Where 3DS can pull it out however, is in a deep line up of unique software you only get on 3DS. Same thing that put the DS over the rainbow.

Did Sony make all these people run 5km before coming to present or something? They are all out of breath.

Hahaha, people laughed at Microsoft's conferece.

Sony's conference, especially in relation to PS3, was even worse. NOTHING new.

This x 3..go look at the Microsoft comments now..this was horrible..

No Guardian..Twisted Metal fell off the face off the earth and Sorcery is on a milk carton..

The choice of demo sections of the games sucked hard..

What happened to the millions of exclusives that were coming out?

People got mad at Micrsoft for pushing Kinect..but wow..NBA on the Move..hardest fail of all time

NGP price was great though

guys they have TGS and GamesCom to still show last guardian and other games.

i cant wait to see sly footage.

also people seem to forget sony already launched.

littlebigplanet 2, killzone 3, infamous 2 ( tomorrow ) mlb 11 and more games already.
Dont forget about socom 4 and motorstorm.

they just showed their line up for this fall, with resistance uncharted 3 and their new handheld launch.

PS3 portion was underwhelming. The concentration of Move and 3D were kicks and piss to the face.

I'm glad about the $249 price tag, but I'm done with portable gaming. I think I'll use that money for my next phone. Some of my friends will probably want a Vita.

I love Sony, but Nintendo is going to walk away with best of E3.

I can't wait for Vita though.

It also sucks that I didn't get any new games to add to my list :/

I feel the same. Guess they are saving all the new PS3 games for GamesCom.

They didn't need to show anything new. They have the most games coming out this fall and they have the hotness that is PSV (which is starting to roll off my tongue now). What more did they have to do to reassure their owners that they're good to go until 2012? TGS will surely bring more announcements too.

I think they did a solid job tonight; however, the stage is set for Nintendo to blow our fucking minds in 14 hours.

Nice conference. Then again, I'm used to E3, so never go with uber high expectations, just to be informed of products, gameplay trailers , etc.

Did found the conference a little more..monotone than Microsoft's, mostly because Jack Tretton sounded so robotic, and the rest of the presenters sounded like they were rushed and out of air.

But what was shown was nice, and Street Fighter x Tekken was surprising, so was the $249.99 entry price for the Vita.

You know what makes me sad, guys? I've been saying since 2006 that I'd buy a PS3 for Team Ico's next game.

It's 2011 and Last Guardian is never coming out. FML

"A+" if we are giving out grades.

Conference was actually entertaining to watch and everyone was highly amusing. No "party" games too with only short and occasional dips into "waggle".

They mentioned quite of few PS3 titles. Don't understand the complaint.

I don't have any interest in playing Bioshock Infinite with the Move, but Ken Levine's segment was great.

Will buy Vita for $250 at launch with Wipeout, just like I did with the PSP.

The AT&T exclusivity announcement was hilarious. Someone should have told Kaz that an audience full of San Francisco game journalists was going to be pissed.

vita price was a surprise. but overall it was really boring.

ms conference was just pure shit.

nintendo just needs to lower the 3ds price and announce cool cafe stuff and they will "win" this e3 easily

Sony had to put PSVita on the spotlight, that's the new hardware. I expected a stronger third party showing on the device though. Where are EA and Epic?

I actually rather enjoyed the Konami conference, regardless of how it was delivered.

They surprised me the most. God damn, when I think back on it...
