Seems like I'll be getting the WW bundle and grabbing Pikmin 3. I edited my post because I'm skipping DK for now. I think one mario is enough platformer for a while.

@ZombiU recommenders, I'm aware of the $10 sale, but honestly horror games aren't my thing. It'll just be another game I add to my evergrowing backlog that I'll never get around to playing.

A few more questions about the console itself if you guys don't mind.

1) What sort of mics can I use on the WiiU? Is it a standard PC headset jack, a bigger 360-like jack, or something else altogether?

2) Is the sensor bar needed to operate any of my games/the OS itself? It might be a little awkward fitting it in my setup, so I'd like to just leave it unplugged if possible.

Fair enough on the Zombiu decision.

You can use any cellphone earpiece mic combo. Works like a charm.

It is only needed when using a wii mote. It is not needed for the gamepad or controller pro.

Yeah, this is not doing it for me, both their minigame and board philosophy. I give them credit for trying to renovate the series after they weren't able to reproduce the quality of MP2 during the Gamecube days, but this is not a viable solution, imo.

There probably won't ever be a mario party online.

Online makes the most sense for this series, but I can kinda see how it'll be a problem with players quitting and disconnecting during boards that take a while to finish.

Make sure you still pick up NSMBU and NSLU. Best 2D Marios ever. The NSMBU bundle is probably the best value if you don't need the wiimote+ and wii wheel that comes with the MK8 bundle, but you could resell those.
