E3 2014 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 [ it's over :( ]

We definitely need to see more of Treehouse. It would be cruel to restrict them to E3 only! Perhaps give them a regular section in Nintendo Directs. Like, Iwata/Shibata/Reggie talks a little bit about a game, then hands over to Treehouse for a demonstration and more information.

I'd like to see Nintendo Direct being followed by a Treehouse in depth look. Say a half hour direct with announcements/trailers and then a 1 hour Treehouse show with live gameplay of select games shown in the direct.

I hope it stops Iwata trying to explain game concepts in broken english. I appreciate it but it's kind of difficult to listen to unfortunately.

They already kind of do that. Some of the Treehouse people show up in Directs and talk about the game. Though it is scripted I guess.
So is there anywhere on YouTube that this is archived in full? I'm stuck on mobile, so I can't see any Twitch archives and I'd rather nor view the piecemeal videos I've found.

still watching the archive streams. it's just so good.

Big ups to Nintendo for being one of the more progressive companies in terms of gender representation. This industry needs more women.

yeah it was great how many women they put on camera and they were all pretty cool. in general i felt the treehouse streams were quietly challenging the status quo of e3 by showing that you can be more inclusive while still having lots of fun times with games.

Man even though Devils Third is getting alot of flack with its graphics and feel. That Multiplayer looks amazing and so much fun. The amount of stuff to unlock is just insane.

I missed Day 1 completely, so it'll be good to go back and watch that stuff. Listening to their introduction, I wonder what made Nintendo lift the veil on Treehouse.

That Nate Bihldorff guy worked on Paper Mario as his first game (and continued to work on the Mario RPGs), so he's cool in my book! Those games have excellent translations.

I totally agree. The gameplay looks amazing. If they can bump up the graphical fidelity a little bit then it will be a solid title.

I'm not worried about Devil's Third...yet. They still have a good amount of development time left, and I'm sure Nintendo will encourage (read: pressure) them to fix up the game before release.

You would need Nintendo to have a Japanese equivalent & European equivalent to do so.

What makes the Treehouse special is that it has grown organically from over 25 years. It'll be interesting if NCL and NOE can replicate something similar fast.

I never have problems with his english. Then again i used to deal a lot with japanese tourist when i was younger.

It just occured to me that we saw all these hours of unfinished games, and I can't remember a single accident - bug, crash, whatever. I'm sure something must have happened at some point which I didn't notice, but in any case, the builds were robust as hell.

Dat Nintendo quality <3

There were a few bugs here and there, I remember one in Mario Maker, and the debug menu (although I don't think a game crashed here).

treehouse was a huge success. i alternated between being completely delighted and super jealous of the treehouse people. whatta career!

to zoom in on one game, codename s.t.e.a.m. looks a whole hell of a lot better in motion than in screenshots. seems like a neat twist on strategy games, compete with addicting gameplay.

so somehow i believe devils third really profited from treehouse

at the reveal I was genuinely surprised but the trailers and the stuff they showed really was looking bad.

with the treehouse demonstration somehow they managed to show the game in a proper way and now I believe all the game needs is a year or so in the cooker but it has a very proper solid gamplay idea...

what game demonstration in treehouse live changed your perception of the game?
I had no interest in Mario Maker, and Fantasy Life but after seeing them on Treehouse I gotta have them now.

I've never gotten this complaint. Yes, he has an accent when he speaks, but he speaks English quite fluently, and more people should give him credit for that.

Someone made this recently. Should come in handy for anyone wanting to follow some of these awesome women.

That treehouse women fan-following is a bit scary, lol. But I'm pretty sure not all of them work for Treehouse. IIRC "Akiko" is Akiko Kuroda, Producer at Platinum for Bayonetta 2.

isnt that basically nintendo direct though? id love nintendo directs with an additional 1 hour of treehouse lifestreaming or something though

Not really, i don't think it is the same as the Directs, the Directs are like when MS & Sony were on the stage saying look at this & look at that, this will be coming out sometime, & the Directs do this, but then the TreeHouse shows people playing the actual game in whatever the current version is & then going in depth with it & also talking with the people who are actually making the game.

I find the Directs quite bland really, i cannot see why they cannot do some sort of TreeHouse thing direct to 3DS or WiiU i wouldn't mind getting some sort of heads up before none Nintendo owners.

I honestly don't see it that creepy. I can understand the concern a little though.. *shrugs*

There was WAY more creepy waifu stuff in this thread and worse then a simple photo/twitter handle picture.

Some of us like to follow the awesome Treehouse people. If it also contained all Treehouse members, male/female/whatever, I would have shared that instead. :/

not sure if genuine attempt to highlight women who are marginalized in the games industry or disturbing catalogue to help creepy men e-stalk women

A bit late as I was busy on the last part of E3, but just wanted to say that I also had a great time this E3 with Nintendo and the Treehouse.

Treehouse plus WiiUGAF was the best of E3, so props to us too guys!!!

...Is Sam actually taking the time to reply to every single person who's tweeted @ her to thank everyone?

Kamiya-tier GOAT status confirmed

Yeah, noticed that too. Went ahead and congratulated her and the team for the wonderful coverage. Also asked her about podcast/stream plans, I really do hope they have something in the pipeline. :O
