Anyone remember that pseudo wrestling match they had in the Kentia hall a few years back? That was a riot, I love checking out that section.

What the hell? Is this for that motherboard?

So this is my first E3... I'm not going to the conferences, only the exhibits, and I just wanted to know if that is an appropriate place to attempt to network and pass out resumes? I was considering dressing up and bringing a briefcase full of resumes... is that appropriate for the exhibit floor? I know it can get pretty chaotic there. What would be the proper etiquette involved? Especially if I was looking for a marketing or business position, and not a development one... Anyway, sorry for the ignorance, thanks in advance for the advice guys. (I didn't want to bump up an old post, and anyway I thought this thread was relevant enough)

No, go to GDC for that.

E3 breeds the ass kissers in the industry. GDC breeds the talent.

What would be interesting is if they actually enforced the all attendees must be 18 or older rule. Or if the convention came to you!

Or if they actually enforced "E3 is a Trade-Only Event".

I agree with you, but now take the position that EVERYBODY should be let in except me.

It's just easier than trying to explain the show is there for people to do business rather than for the masses to play games all day and behave boorishly in an attempt to get free baubles.

Like the broken arms and legs that were a result of Nintendo and their plush Pokemon tosses at the Atlanta E3s?

"OMG THEY'RE TOSSING LITTLE STUFFED POKEMON! TACKLE EVERYONE AND ACT LIKE A THUG DAWG!"

What a bunch of maroons. I just went around asking the nice ladies for some and they just handed them to me.

You're talking about the ones that would turn into pokéballs if you flip them inside-out right?

Yes, Nintendo would toss them into the crowd from the Pikachu beetle and it was a death trap of people tackling each other to get one. I know one person broke their arm and I think the year after that there was a snapped leg.

E3 is probably the better place to make personal contacts, rather than just handing out resumes to everyone. Of course, you have to be lucky and spot a guy from a company that you'd want to work for on the exhibit floor and try to strike up a conversation with them.
