Earplugs safe to sleep with?

I can hear everything through the walls of my room. Chatter, walking, etc. I can't just tell my roommates to stop existing after I go to bed so I was in the same predicament as you. I used earplugs every night for months and it was okay. No problems here. My alarm was a sharp enough noise to penetrator the ear plugs. Now I just got a loud air filter though that makes white noise to cover up those sounds so I can sleep without them.

Suggesting conflict with an unstable person in your living situation is a very bad idea.

Yeah to be fair it's not always him being unreasonable, it's any noise. The wall between our rooms is paper thin.

But for every genuine instance of "OK noise", there's getting back from a club 5:40 in the morning and blasting some "sick tunes".

Earplugs have been a godsend for me the past couple years. I can't sleep without them anymore. I am picky on brand though, I've noticed different brands have different levels of effectiveness. Right now I use Mack's Ultra Soft Foam. They're tan in color.

I usually just wear the orange and pink ones that you can get for cheap at the pharmacy. I have three roommates who come home around 11pm-1am each night and like to blast the TV. They usually like to invite some friends over too, so they like to keep me up. They also like to smoke weed in the apartment, which almost got me evicted, but that's another story.

These earplugs hurt my ears a bit, but they do a good job of blocking out all of the noise. My alarm is really loud, so I am able to hear it. I also keep my phone next to me just in case.

I had to live in a shithole next to a city road with 4 housemates one term. Every night I wore earplugs AND headphones (the type that cup your ears) on top of that. I plugged the headphones into my phone so I could hear the alarm I set in the morning.

When I worked nights on construction I'd fill my pockets with these disposable EAR Classics (there were free bins of them all around the site) to help me sleep during the day. I'm an incredibly light sleeper.

ProTip: cut them in half for sleeping in so they don't stick out so much and won't put pressure on the ear canal. Same noise-damping effect, and if you're buying them, they'll last twice as long. They can be pulled out easily with a pair of tweezers.

I should have filled bin bags with these. Some shops charge £1 a pair, but you can get them dirt cheap in bulk on Amazon.
