Don't worry too much about the Prove It Ticket stuff. The only real thing you have to know about the podcast is that for some reason in the show's entire run, they haven't found a single listener that prefers The Princess Bride over the first Shrek movie. While the Allies understand that it would be a minority opinion, they're just amazed that thus far they haven't found a single one to date yet. You can hit them up if you know someone, but they'll naturally will want to hear a detailed explanation why though. Just a small safe-guard against trolls.
Please please please please please don't subject new listeners to the worst running joke known to man.
So I've finally caught up on everything and while I didn't think it would be, the tournament was awesome. I'm still kinda burnt out on For Honor through Huber's over-exposure of it but everyone got really into it and the ending was really unpredictable, so it was a ton of fun.
Loved the EZA wrestling belt and the rest of the gifts segment but for the first time, I did get a little uncomfortable during it. I think the issue I had is that previously the gifts seemed like personal and regional things and that was great but now you've got groups of people contributing to GoFundMe campaigns and it's all getting a bit weird for my liking. So long as these kind of things are one-offs, I'm happy with them, but if it's the new norm then I'm not a fan.
The Bandai Namco impressions were fantastic. Contrary to what a couple of others have said, I thought it was great having the panel there asking the right kind of questions that clarify details and reacting to what Ben's saying. I don't know why anyone would want a solo video instead, when the group works so well together. Just imagine how much weaker their E3 impressions would've been if they'd done them solo.
The podcast was good, there wasn't exactly much news to talk about but the conversations were interesting and at least the like ticket wasn't there to stifle it. But on the Japan/West question, I think Brandon fell into a trap a lot of people do with Japanese games/anime when he said FFVI Shadow is a white guy. As far as I'm aware, he isn't. Just because he has blonde hair, doesn't mean he's white, just look at Cloud and Tidus.
