Eh, what was the point of the whole panel being there? It was just Ben talking at them.

Guessing Bandai Namco only invited one person; there wasn't much of a discussion as more, guys react to what I just saw and fill in the gaps.

I'm sympathetic to this, but it's pretty tough when only one person goes to the event and you have a lot of information/multiple games to get through. I still think the panel added quite a bit, such as the reaction to the kingdom builder, the Naruto knowledge, etc. Those small moments make a video much more interesting imo.

Yeah, Brandon did a good job with the Horizon and Ghost Recon previews, but typically, if you're going to sit down and talk, it's a lot easier to do with other people-- and rarely do we get to send more than one person to a preview event. For an event with a lot of games, scripted previews don't really work too well either.

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
What kind of Easy Allies would they be if they left Ben to stare straight down a camera and try and talk about Boruto all by himself.

Ben can probably make a more compact thing if you make a solo impressions video like what Brandon did. While it could be a bit redundant after so long since the NNK2 information came out, in my opinion I think it's better than Ben talking about what he saw and the other guys scrambling for their hot takes/opinions. Damiani was bang-on with his information with the UNS series though.

I liked the Dragon Quest VIII talk since everyone has experience with the PS2 version. Though I think playing more would have given a better comparison to the PS2 version. The video was missing some stuff like the orchestrated music being gone and the importance of the new party members.

Can't wait for the darkest timeline where Don realizes he's the brightest mind of the century and quits EZA to win Oscars or Nobels.

Is Easy Allies In Concert going to be recorded?

going by brandon, yes, but putting it on youtube or anywhere else is a "may be" since they don't know how it will turn out...

you know, like another gaffer here said, it can turn out amazing, or amazing, no inbetween.

which also makes me extra bummed, because I want to see it anyway (I wanted it streamed, tbh)

I was with you until the end there. It was labeled an impressions piece. Of course it would be better if more was played, but that wasn't feasible and clearly addressed right at the beginning of the video. Expecting a comprehensive duscussion is a bit unfair in this instance.

Man I was hyped for Not A Hero on PS+ and man....I'm not sure I'm feeling it

Sense of humor is also completely not doing it for me so that doesn't help. But I'm not sure I like how the cover mechanic feels. Will definitely keep giving it a shot as it's the sort of game I'm into but meh

Loved the panel style. I rather listen to a conversation than a monologue.

Tabletop was on fire this week, loved the episode.

I still want my anniversary stream, tho. :-(

I am currently playing Nioh and I don't know, the combat is amazing, truly the highlight of the game. But everything else is just mostly such a huge BLAH that it never reaches the heights of the greats. The combat alone will probably carry me through til the end or I hit a wall, but I still feel a little bit of disappointment.

Don't worry too much about the Prove It Ticket stuff. The only real thing you have to know about the podcast is that for some reason in the show's entire run, they haven't found a single listener that prefers The Princess Bride over the first Shrek movie. While the Allies understand that it would be a minority opinion, they're just amazed that thus far they haven't found a single one to date yet. You can hit them up if you know someone, but they'll naturally will want to hear a detailed explanation why though. Just a small safe-guard against trolls.

Please please please please please don't subject new listeners to the worst running joke known to man.

So I've finally caught up on everything and while I didn't think it would be, the tournament was awesome. I'm still kinda burnt out on For Honor through Huber's over-exposure of it but everyone got really into it and the ending was really unpredictable, so it was a ton of fun.

Loved the EZA wrestling belt and the rest of the gifts segment but for the first time, I did get a little uncomfortable during it. I think the issue I had is that previously the gifts seemed like personal and regional things and that was great but now you've got groups of people contributing to GoFundMe campaigns and it's all getting a bit weird for my liking. So long as these kind of things are one-offs, I'm happy with them, but if it's the new norm then I'm not a fan.

The Bandai Namco impressions were fantastic. Contrary to what a couple of others have said, I thought it was great having the panel there asking the right kind of questions that clarify details and reacting to what Ben's saying. I don't know why anyone would want a solo video instead, when the group works so well together. Just imagine how much weaker their E3 impressions would've been if they'd done them solo.

The podcast was good, there wasn't exactly much news to talk about but the conversations were interesting and at least the like ticket wasn't there to stifle it. But on the Japan/West question, I think Brandon fell into a trap a lot of people do with Japanese games/anime when he said FFVI Shadow is a white guy. As far as I'm aware, he isn't. Just because he has blonde hair, doesn't mean he's white, just look at Cloud and Tidus.

i sold my copy after a couple of days. the game is great but these types of games are starting to really feel like 'been there, done that' to me. when i saw that it takes ~30-40 hours to beat, i checked out. too many other games to play right now.

Nioh is great but it's no Bloodborne.

Then again, what is?
It's my fav game of alltime and I still haven't touched the DLC - because I rarely if ever play DLC content...but it still warms my heart to know that at any given point in time I could just go and look and yes, there is still some Bloodborne outthere I haven't played yet. :D (I have my doubts about the existence of a direct follow-up)

All digital, baby. But nah, wouldn't have sold it either way. Dark Souls III gave me the fatigue feeling, Nioh's combat is just different enough to differentiate it for me personally. Not to speak of the fact that I just prefer fast combat in general.

Just wanted to pop in and commend whoever suggested that I stop saying "you know". Thank you. It's gotten pretty bad and I wouldn't have noticed it if someone hadn't said something on here. Very good to be aware of these things. Of course, speech doesn't change overnight, but I'm happy to improve upon it.

GAF helps!

dude. the bloodborne dlc is arguably better than the main game.

Yea, really liking the impressions format as well. It's always cool to see Easy Allies as a team rather than everyone doing their own thing under the same banner.

Been a real good week of content. Group stream was great (Good games are key, Wall-E would have got old within half an hour), Don show was excellence as usual, and now this slew of early previews. Oh and the always fantastically chill Gundam stream which I could just watch for hours.

Much prefer the couch co-op buddies along for Ben's impressions format as they can invoke more discussions and dig more info out that they're interested in. Jones solo previews to camera seemed too stressful without a fellow ally to do the back and forth.

Also didn't pick up on too many um's and whatever so seemed fine by me! One thing I'd add for ultimate slick rick-ness is some title box swipes for the games and release windows. Oh and DBloodworth title snuck into the 2nd Bandai Namco one. Please do not feel physical pain over this, editor. I do not wish it upon you.

I've started watching more and more of their content recently; before I only really checked out the occasional video like their E3 stuff or PSX videos, really enjoyed it, but hadn't dived in deep. It's super nice to see all of the JRPG videos, impressions and playthroughs, that's super rare to find nowadays. And the super positive atmosphere is always welcome, too!

If you guys want to check out an exciting new space adventure game with RPG elements check out what Kyle's streaming

Very impressive that this is running on Wii U hardware

Tomorrow night (02/17/17) is very special for me. I'll be hosting a discussion between the legendary Suda51 and Kazutaka Kodaka, the creator, director, and scenario writer for the Danganronpa series. The discussion will take place at the NIS America press event in San Francisco. You can watch the discussion live on the NIS America Twitch channel at 7:45 p.m. PST. It lasts until 8:30. We'll also be hosting the event on the EZA Twitch channel if you prefer to watch that way.

As for what you can expect, I'll ask them questions about their time in the industry, what keeps them motivated, and how they make their games so damn stylish. If you're a fan of Frame Trap, expect a similar vibe (hopefully). As you've probably heard me say before, I'm a big fan of Suda and Danganronpa, so I'm genuinely thrilled that I got asked to do this.

Been watching some really good For Honor players and damn Huber got ways to go. Hope he does some training streams where he tries to improve specifically instead of just playing.

You'll never be as bad as my wife when it comes to "you know" during a speech. She'll say it after every statement and not continue until you acknowledge it in some way.

Good luck for the Suda panel, Ben! That's a real achievement for EZA and yourself personally! It's always good when people who actually care get to moderate these things.
As for the Namco event, was Ace Combat there? I'm really waiting for more news and impressions on that game.
