Hi EZAGaf, I figured my first post with my account should be here given my gaming renaissance has been driven largely by the Allies passion for games.
I never actually watched Gametrailers so my exposure to the crew came when Brandon appeared on the Co-optional Podcast. I jumped on as a patreon when they launched and after months of watching, I picked up a PS4 just before christmas for 3 reasons: the Last Guardian, Dragon Quest Builders, and Yakuza 0. An odd selection of games to buy a console for but there are no regrets as these have been some of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had.
My gaming history has been as a PC/Nintendo handheld gamer since the 90s so many of the nostalgia points of the Allies don't resonate with me but I find I'm able to enjoy the discussion none the less.
I've also noticed with the more games I've been exposed to on different platforms, the more willing I have been to take risks. There have been some duds but mostly great successes such as Dragon Quest Builders: I don't care for block building games nor have I played dragon quest before but that game charmed the hell out of me and now I'm making my way through the DQ DS catalogue before picking up the 3DS releases. Also Yakuza is life. Anyway, thanks allies for the community you've built up!

Edit: Not sure if Damianis argument about Laidlaw writing the story so far removed from the office at home is feasible or would even hold up given what was said earlier in the podcast by Hoge Law.

Thank you, Primethius, that's very nice to hear. We've enjoyed working with Kyle over the past couple of weeks on these items, and would be happy for it to continue.
On Damiani's point, it comes from the right place in that use of employer time and materials is generally a factor. It is not a factor (under WA or CA law), however, if the IP in question relates to the business or anticipated business of the employer, so I don't believe it would help Mr. Laidlaw here (even if he came up with the story in the bathroom at home).

I also want to echo Primethius' sentiment. It was really nice to get a definitive answer on such a complex issue to avoid the Allies just speculating about it. Plus, as a law student interested in IP, that was a damn impressive summation of an issue that essentially amounts to navigating in a legal grey area. Some great publicity for your firm. Also, you now have your foot in the door of the lucrative podcast-advice market

Like every other episode, though. We get it. Half the planet doesn't even have access to those pre-orders anyway. It gets tiring.
I mean, they would just talk about them on the EZA podcast or Frame Trap if it wasn't on there. It's not like most other podcasts have ignored the issue.
I miss those TTA episodes that were like 2 hours
I'm going through the Tabletop Adventures stuff for the first time. On Episode 8 I think. It's incredibly silly but still pretty fun. And hear each episode has been around 1hr30mins. Good stuff.

Why? it's an issue for a lot of people, so they should absolutely talk about it. All the other gaming podcasts I listen to talked about it.
Though it is kinda funny hearing about all this pre-order chaos, while here in NZ pre-orders have been up for weeks and are still available. #SmugShrug

I'm only halfway through the podcast but on the subject of the Secret of Mana remake, they didn't seem to remember that Adventures of Mana came out on the Vita last year. So that presumably did well enough for Square Enix to greenlight a Secret of Mana remake on Vita (using what I assume is the same engine) and also bring it to PS4 and Steam.

Good stuff. Although I disagree with all you guys, it's still an entertaining podcast and Ian just makes it better.
On another note Huber Syndrome just posted a GoT spoilercast with Ian, Brandon and Brad so that should be fun too.

Man, if you listen to TTE without headphones, it's really damn hard to hear a thing, when Ben and Kyle (they very often do this) go into whisper mode.
I appreciate them acting out the characters, and if it had subtitle it wouldn't be a problem, but the way it is, i never hear shit, unless i blast the volume all the way up, but the Huber would blow my speakers.
Anyway, battle prep episodes are a bit unexciting by nature, so not a big deal.

Loved the GoT talk on Huber Syndrome. I agreed with most of what they said, especially how Ian said he can
I think the only thing I disagreed with (aside from Brad's director pick) was Ian saying there's
overlook the weird time jumps but not when characters act irrationally. The Arya/Sansa stuff, aside from their reunion and the finale, was awful. It's the kind of bad writing you'd expect from a show like NCIS, intentionally misleading your audience while simultaneously making your characters look like idiots. Littlefinger's death was amazing, easily one of my favourite scenes in the entire show because it was the culmination of everything Littlefinger had done, but the route to get to that point was still bad. Tyrion was another one who also did a lot of dumb crap this season.
I think the only thing I disagreed with (aside from Brad's director pick) was Ian saying there's
no plan and life is meaningless. I completely disagree. If anything, I'd say that's Walking Dead, not Game of Thrones, and is something a lot of fans completely misunderstand (including Telltale, who produced that awful GoT game). Game of Thrones may have a lot of character deaths and messed up stuff happening but there's always been certain characters, like Jon and Dany, who were clearly going to play major roles in the end game. So I've always felt there was an end goal in mind (at least with GRRM, I'm not sure about D&D) and everything before that was GRRM moving the chess pieces around the board to get to that goal.

I'm glad to hear that, because that's the kind of response I'd hope that everyone who disagrees with us would have. Sadly, it's not so and we get lots of hate mail for having a different opinion on a tv Show.

Hm patreon is hovering real close to the 40k threshold. I know the real amount isn't known for a week or so afterwards but I'd hate to lose the additional podcasts
I'll sign back up as a thank you to Ian. I was a Patron for the whole first year but had to cut some costs recently. I think I can swing it again now though.

kudos to huber syndrome evolving into this show that can flexibly cover things even outside video games. I really enjoyed the past couple ones a lot.
Pretty much agree with all of this.
Not that it's a bad thing but HS is the least evolved/developed show to me. It's literally "What does Huber feel like talking about this week?". Sometimes he can think of a game mechanic to talk about, sometimes it's talking about a movie he saw. It's pretty much just "Here's your 10-20 minutes with Huber".
Again, not necessarily a bad thing.

Damiani does all that layout stuff on the group streams. If you're in chat when it's live, you can point it out to him, but each week is typically a different layout based on the game.
