I think the point is it's so bad it's a non-joke. Kyle loves that stuff

I thought it was a good joke. The question set-up itself is already pretty good and could lead to all kinds of hilarious answers, but then the answer still catches you kinda off guard and works as a joke on how Vin is turning everything into f&f...and just picturing what a Beauty And The Fast And The Furious movie would be like.

Kyle's deliver helps a lot too, him just cracking up is making the others laugh already.

Explaining jokes on the internetses always a bad idea! I just think Kyle deserves a little more credit for this one.

Voting for Dragon Ball on the group stream poll, just so Huber can unleash all his pent up Dragon Ball feelings.

Seriously, he's talked about it so much recently.

Best of Easy Allies - 2017-29 - Part 2 - Right Now

Hi everyone, today happens to be the 6 month anniversary of these Best of Easy Allies videos. Sorry to say, unfortunately, I don't have good news to share on this occasion.

Due to certain circumstances I will not be able to continue to release these videos on a regular basis anymore. I did everything I could and tried to seek out ways that would've maybe allowed me to continue these vids the way I have been doing them so far, but those didn't pan out.

I will still continue to work on these to the best of my ability, but can't make any promises as to what kind of schedule they will release on. All I can say is, expect the frequency of these videos to definitely be noticeably slowed.

Sorry once again everyone.
I enjoyed those vids a lot, never understood why EZA didn't link the playlist on their main channel. Sad to see you stop, especially because I doubt they're going to do anything similar anytime soon.

Finished Yakuza 0, way better than I expected. I honestly thought Huber was so into it just because it's a beat em up that reminds him of Shenmue. Didn't expect gaming's best crime dramedy.
Thankfully what I heard from Kiwami's review wasn't a 0 spoiler. Speaking of which I'm not sure if I can go straight into Kiwami unless I just crit path the whole thing.

I saw Yakuza 6 demo (the Yakuza marketing team in my circle is getting out of control) and it doesn't look great? I'd take better frame rate over less loading screens.

That easy update was a ton of fun

It's a Huber reaction gif goldmine!
Exactly. I see at least 5 gifs there and none of them are in this thread yet!

(I had a comment about the podcast too but I forgot it.)

Kiwami is impossible to crit path. You'll just get annoyed with how there's almost double the side stuff to stumble on compared to 0 and Majima Everywhere means you keep getting into boss fights with him just walking down the street. You're best off taking a break and playing other things
unless you love the series like I do and I did Yakuza 1-3 back to back when I wanted to get into the series

Anybody here who played Horizon, can tell me if the game is supposed to click after a while or not?
I was very hyped for it, but after several hours (i got to the big desert city) i'm finding it painfully boring and tedious to play.

I like open worlds and Ubi games too, which makes it all the more baffling.

The only part i really enjoyed, was doing those Cauldrons (but there are only a few) as the combat is fun, but everything else i'm hating.

The story, too, is so incredibly dull and uninteresting, whenever there is a dialog, i get the strong urge to just skip everything.
Loot seems meaningless, it's just crafting stuff.
I also don't like to explore the world, since it looks so fake and game-y.

Sorry, didn't want to open a LTTP or rant thread, since the answer is just "then stop playing", but i paid 30€ for it, and i just can't get myself to just abandon it.

Anyone here hated the game in the first hours, but clicked with it at some point?

My recommendations would to let some time pass before jumping into another Yakuza. I haven't played any outside 1 & 2 (currently working on 0) but the way they're designed you're pretty much going to meander, and they're big games with a lot of familiarity between them. Mixing in other games in between entry I think would help prevent franchise fatigue. I'd space it out so you have 6-12 months before Kiwami 2 (non Japanese version) releases

Take breaks between yakuzas it's really easy to burn out on the series.

That is weird Kiwami has far less sidestuff than at least 5 and 0. This accounts for substories(~70 vs the ~90 from zero), arcade(only mesuking, crane game and photobooth vs all that other shit from 0), weapon crafting(non existent), less cp requirements etc. So not sure how one can stumble on double the side stuff that way that said I wouldn't say that is necessarily a bad thing. It's kinda nice to have a leaner yakuza at lower price.

They took the longer friend quests and stuff out, but the on the street sidequests are much more. I really didn't mean it as a bad thing, but if someone just wants to blast through it, it's close to impossible.

So I'm mostly just lurking in these threads nowadays, as I never have any time to watch the streams (living in Europe and all) or keeping up with threads like this at all really, but I'd just like to say that that Easy Update episode was delightful. Making this a recurring game with different teams with the other Allies would be amazing.

I'm in the minority but I didn't find the game to be as incredible as most other people did. So, to be honest, I can't really say for you.

- The graphics, undeniably, are amazing. Coupled with the confident art direction, it makes for an all round incredible looking game.

- The cities/towns as you have already realised are relatively lifeless. There's nobody to really interact with besides shopkeepers and all the NPCs are just decoration.

- I agree that the story is average too (it doesn't have a particularly interesting ending either). My biggest problem with the story, frankly, is how it's told. I don't want to spoil too much for you but you'll meet
an NPC who is essentially in your ear for the whole time in the later stages of the game. As you're exploring these mysterious vaults etc. the NPC reminds you that he's already been to all these places and set up footholds for you,
therefore (imo) completely KILLING any sense of adventure.

- Whilst the combat's fun, I feel like if you weren't fighting robot dinosaurs, it wouldn't be that great. The traps and stuff are fun but I felt like it got a littel repetitive in the end. It's the spectacle that makes up for most of the combat for me.

- It's an Ubisoft collect-a-thon/checklist open-world game at its absolute worst. The side-quests are almost parody - "scan footprints, follow, scan again, follow, combat sequence"

- None of the characters really mattered to me. They give Rost the sad backstory and heroic saviour moment and Aloy actually has an interesting motivation for a AAA game but every other character was just so two dimensional to me. Also, it felt like multiple characters' motivations were they fancied Aloy - although I appreciate Guerilla not feeling the need to pair her off.

I'm not actually down on the game, it's just a solid 7 to me. The whole time I was playing, I was seeing these lush environments, ridiculously good art design and eye melting grapics and I was thinking "Why aren't I enjoying this more?" - I only found most of my problems with the game in the latter half though so if you're only a part way in and are not enjoying it, I'm not really sure what to say. It might be worth sticking it out if you don't have too much in the backlog.

Yeah I guess I'll wait on Kiwami. It might be Switch time then.

Nope. If it hasn't clicked post the provision it never will. The story will be more focused later on.
I agree with you though. It was a bit of a slog to go through it. The hunting lodge trials are fun if you don't insist on perfecting each one (they made me stop playing it for weeks since I wanted to perfect them all).

I actually put off Nier to finish this, lol.
I' think i'll go bacvk to that and finish Horizon whenever.

Don't want to bring out the Zelda/Horizon debate, especially since i have been down on Zelda (a bit because the praise was becoming suffocating) but exploring that world felt so much better.
The best thing in Horizon so far, is fighting a Dino on the verge of being too hard for you, but not quite, and trying to understand what's the best way to deal with it, rolling, dashing and jumping all the while.

Everything else, as you described, felt very tedious, from the very basic quests, to the lifeless cities.

As i was playing i was wondering why i loved Witcher 3 so much, and yet couldn't get into this, despite both having many things in common (and Horizon arguably having the better combat), and i think the more naturalistic world design and, especially, the writing, is really what sets that apart.
Plus despite having a lot of follow-the-Witcher-senses quests, you also have many more creative things, like taking part in a play and stuff like that.

I dunno, maybe i'll come back to it in a couple of years and appreciate it.

I was really intrigued by Jones' comments on the ending being sort of a mind fuck twist, so i wanted to soldier through, but i don't know if it's worth the (eventual) grief.

Donmt Laugh was amazing, Huber keep staying a treasure. Also funny but obvious that Brad knows how to pull hos humor strings after all these years.

Q&A was also great, it's weird that i know Kyle will give us a weirdo answer but nevere guessing what it is before.

I hope whoever's in charge of the EZA Destiny Clan does a purge before Destiny 2. I took a look through the members and some don't even have characters attached to the accounts or they're like Level 1/2.

Kinda bugs me that I can't join a clan that seems to have a significant portion of members just in there to be in a EZA clan.

Well the best time would be after Destiny 2 right? Some of them may have joined as they've bought/buying Destiny 2, so they wouldn't have a character yet.

Can't remember if we got a reactions/commentary video last year but the Sony conference for this years TGS is on Sept 19, midnight Sept 18 for the Allies. Hoping for a watchalong stream even if the conference may not amount to much.

But praying for a From Software announcement or something

Still remember Brad, Kyle and Ben streaming the TGS from a couple years ago in that little GT office.

I didn't become a fan of GT/EZA until about a month before the end of GT, but I still go back every once in a while to watch their dismay at the Umbrella Corps reveal during that stream.

Btw anybody else playing Rabbids? It's a beautiful game, I'm really enjoying it. I'm midway through world 2. I'm like afraid to blow through it too fast but it saved my ass on my business trip of sorts this weekend. I'm definitely interested in the season pass when it's done, I hope the story dlc adds a new world. The colors and models are a feast for the eyes

I really wish I was. I don't have a Switch (yet) but I'm honestly looking more forward to playing Mario + Rabbids than even BotW. Glad to hear that you are having fun!

Edit: Also definitely not ment as a knock on BotW but as a praise on Rabbids. Looking forward to Zelda too ofc.

Its absolutely perfect when followed by the reveal reaction from RE7.
Ben was super heated about Umbrella Corps but then his reaction to 7 is just perfection.

Have you at least done the main side quests, like
the attack on the people who attacked the Nora
? I found those quests to be some of the best in the game, at least until you start getting into the end game.

Though if you have no interest in the story, I'm not sure what I could say that would change your mind. I thought it was incredible, slowly piecing together the horrific back story and everything. There were parts that really reminded me of Fallout: New Vegas (understandably given the narrative director), other parts that reminded me of Witcher 3 and yet more that felt completely unique. It wasn't quite all there but it was an incredible start, especially for the studio's first RPG.

Well this time there is also TGS, PGW so I thought maybe they would do a big one. Guess not.

They did a group stream betting special for TGS last year to decide the TGA/PSX challenger and a proper betting special for the Switch unveil in January to decide the E3 challenger, so it's possible. The biggest problem with a joint TGS/PGW betting special though, is that there's a month and a half between both conferences.

I recall Bosman saying in one of the Gundam streams that there would be some kind of betting for each of the events but without their betting personas. So probably regular betting streams for TGS, PGW and probably one for TGAs and PSX.
