Shipping a ton of crap out today and wanted to know what you guys know about "media mail". Is it cheaper to ship media mail? how long is the ship time compared to priority? 1/ this junk weighs less than a pound.

Just go to the post office, and they'll set out your options, prices, and ship times.

Media mail is about 2-3 dollars cheaper than Priority Mail which ranges from $3.85-$4.84 for things like DVDs and games, but it take between 5-10 days to arrive while Priority gets to anywhere in the US in 2-3 days.

The important thing to me is that it's only 10 cents cheaper than First Class mail, which is a good bit faster.

Edit - Worst comes to worst, just tell 'em that you're sending CDs or DVDs, as appropriate.

media can take over 1 week depending on the distance, its better to pay the extra cents for 1st class

One warning about using media mail:

The Post Office has the right to randomly open and search any media mail package - they're cracking down on misuse of media mail rates. It could be a potential bummer if the ebay package arrives looking opened or tampered with.

Half.com offers two kinds of shipping with all sales, and one of them is Media mail. This includes videogames of ALL kinds, disc, cart, etc.

Once again, go first class. Media Mail is 1-2 weeks. For a few cents more, first class is like 3 days.
