Well if you check they didn't give a lot of the big guns in this list a 10. I like that!!! I like that they keep their 10 for very special occasions. And to be fair, as awesome as Halo 2 is, and I agree, it is amazing, it does have flaws. Also, being a sequal may play a part in it as well. It's not fresh, and a 10 should be saved for something very new. It could be a sequal as long as it's really fresh and new with lots of new content and elements etc.open_mouth_ said:

I'm about as big a Halo nut as you are going to find, and I agree with you. On a 1-10 scale, 10 should be 'revolutionary'. That was what a five star score meant in the old Next Gen. A game that shakes things up in execution and creativity. Halo did that - it blew past expectations for FPS on consoles and raised the bar.
Halo 2 is the evolution of that revolution. I think it's an overall better game (based on campaign, no multi for me...yet) - but it didn't redefine the genre the way Halo did. If the game were a touch more polished, and had a real fucking conclusion, then I would give it a 10 based on the merits and execution. It would be a revolutionary package in terms of polish and completeness.
Since Edge is what NextGen was based on, it's not surprising that their scores are a little more revered that a pandering IGN or Gamespot.
The idea that GAF agrees with Edge, or rather Edge agrees with GAF frightens me

Edge is awesome. I love it. Only game mag I still buy. Fuck all the pretenders and their candy coated editorials (or the fact you can get them as free subs). Great paper quality too.
The sooner you guys stop buying Naughty Dog Jak games and send them back to do new stuff... the better.

Id give it an 8, it has gotten some really nice scores in other European magazines (9/10 Gamereactor, 9/10 and 8/10 SuperPlay).
Seems a little low, The Getaway was an excellent game, if only you gave it a chance. I’ll see if I give it a shot, playing as a copper is always fun.

This game is a 9 easily, one of the best games this year. Makes Mario squeal like a pig. I really hope ND continues with the Jak series on PS3.

well i tried real hard to sign up for the Edge magazine at their website but it wont work. everytime i do it says i missed a field and to enter in the data where the field is bolded, and there is no bolded fields though. either i'm not seeing something or their site signup is bonkers.
is there a phone number i can call to signup instead?

NFSU2 is a good game, I find it far more interesting than Halo 2 single player wise :lol. I have it admit it deserves some hate for the cheesy "homie" shit EA puts in it.

I disagree with you, Jak 1 and 2 were both class; but I haven't bought Jak 3 as I sort of guessed it wasn't quite working out. Same for Killzone, there were enough advance warnings to stop me buying it.

This is wierd, this isn't the magazine I subscribed to (the first issue was a direct rip of the British mag), This time it seems they've changed the presentation and the content and have somewhat watered it down for the Aussie crowd
