What does Vision GT mean?

That's what they called the E3 demo. I think because it mostly used GT4 assets but respresents what they are shooting for on the PS3... i.e. lots more cars on screen, etc.

...and this list...god nothing new at all....

On the 6th? Unfortunately not I'll be on vacation in Palm Springs, CA.

WOW, WE'RE GOING TO GET MARIO, ZELDA AND SMASH BROTHERS IN REVOLUTION???

THANK YOU!! NINTENDO!!! BUT BUT WHAT ABOUT MARIO TEHNEEES?!?! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NINTENDO, MAKE ONE FOR REVOLUTION LOLOLOLOL AM I RITE?

Wow @ those Nintendo games.

My sources have been telling me that they're also gonna make a Mario Kart, Star Fox, and Kirby for the new system. And my source (common fucking sense) is rarely wrong.

I'm not sure if this was a joke or not; sarcasm over the head or what. Oh well, Mario Tennis would be a welcome addition to that awesome lineup. :D

If Nintendo came out of the gates with Mario 128, Zelda, Prime 3, Smash Bros., a Final Fantasy, and Mario Kart at launch... Just, wow! The only thing is they better keep the intensity up with some killer third party offerings if they want a chance at claiming a better market share than they did with the 'Cube.

But even if they end up being a "niche player" like jack-off Sony and MS execs say they are, that's fine with me. My 'Cube and DS are my fave systems anyway.

As opposed to all the fresh, original properties on the other lists.

Anyone else catch the bit about experimenting with the original super mario bros? It might have a new look on Rev?

Better still, “we are doing several experiments, including working with the original Super Mario Bros., with the new technology,” says Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. “The game itself and the gameplay shall be identical, but the look will be different—it’s possible that with Revolution, we may be able to see the old games with new looks.”

All of this is in my thread ;)

Seriously, though, is this article old, or just new to the web, or..? :) A lot of it's new to me.

It's funny to see so much Nintendo hate on here, even though most of the other games are/ or have just been announced to be released. We don't even know what else is coming (3rd party wise) for Nintendo. Stop the hating.

i was expecting something new or a list of notable companies creating games for the Revo. Not a list of games that were announced around the time of E3.

What do you expect from print media?

I see 3 x360 rpg's and one ps3....

Leaning to 360....
Please save me!

(No I have neither the time or money for both)

Hmm..Fable 2, sounds awesome! With next gen visuals and better AI, this could the game Fable and Shenmue fans have been waiting for. On the PS3 side? Next gen Sonic makes me drool, Sonic Adventure amazed more than any first gen launch titles ever, and this would be no different, weird it would be launching for a Sony system....

I wonder how this found it's way into a list of notable games...

Vision GT—And you thought the Gran Turismo games looked good on PS2

Are my expectations too high? :D

I don't think they are looking at those PGR3 cars... I'm talking Polyphony-fucking-Digital here, these guys will mince everything in sight - rival racing games and developers alike. I can't wait to see what they produce on the powerfulest hardware. :D

Well if FFXIII is on PS3 then so is DQ9. FF + DQ >>>>> all other RPGs put together.

They'll announce they are going to do that a good 6-8 months before launch, and then they will "delay" and "pushback" over half of those titles.

No way they will all be launch titles.
(Most will fall into the first 6 month "launch window" anyway)

Simply because it is too much compeition for dollars at launch from the same publisher.
Eats into each games initial sales.

hah. so hold on, is it official now? GTA ps3 exlusive?? :D
I'd like further info on this too. I'll make the safe bet and say it's a timed exclusive UNLESS R* goes balls-out on the Blu-Ray format. One of the very first comments they made about the PS3 was that they were really looking forward to making use of the huge storage space.

If Sony got GTA exclusive to the point where R* got all the dev assistance they needed/wanted and R* was able to code to all of the PS3's strengths, it could be one hell of a title. Hopefully they'll have something ready for holiday season '06, if not launch (OHGODGTAPS3ATLAUNCH)

e: the source is apparently Cliffy B, which is interesting.

e2: Cliffy B sez:
Long story short: Each system has its strengths, and first-generation games on all three consoles will look similar. As this new generation ages, however, we expect the differences to become more pronounced, particularly when looking at PS3-exclusive games.
Interesting. The whole article linked in the OP is a great read.

Does the article say that? Given the confusion around that at E3, even if the article did say that I'm not sure how reliable that would be. I certainly wouldn't take it to be "official".

Seems real speculative to me too, and considering the publicity GTA is currently getting, who knows whatÂ’s going to happenÂ…

Yep, this is old, a wrap-up from the E3 issue of EGM.

The source on the Zelda thing is Nintendo-- 'confirmed by Nintendo.' They said it at their E3 conference (Iwata, to be specific, I think).

And as most of you know, the next GTA is not known to be exclusive or not for the PS3, they haven't said.

Fable 2—The follow-up to Peter Molyneux’s “greatest RPG of all time”

I hope he hypes this one up. I didn't even know about the last one until I saw it in stores.

Oh shit I'm surprised no one has latched onto the Itagaki quote, yet! I'll repost it here:

I see greatest launch ever when I look at November. I seriously wonder about others' I can still buy the niche/hardcore games and enjoy myself. I have Killer 7, DDR mats, Donkey Konga bongos. I also have the Halo 2's, MGS3s, God of Wars, the Zeldas, the GTA's. It's like fuckin shit, what planet are these guys from? Honestly. I can't call it.

Quoted for a sense of truth. Surprises -1

I sure as hell hope Killzone looks that sexy in some way or another. :(

I must be behind the times, because I was unaware that Mario 128 had jumped to revolution. I mean, in name alone shouldn't that be on the Cube? (Granted, it is just a code name.. )

When did that happen?

I knew it sounded familiar.

E3 wrap up, so it came from before other game announcements and such. They had predicted RR6 in that issue, though, accurately! That's why I follow EGM rumours more closely now. They've been right like 6 issues in a row. Now plz be right about FFVIIr :(

I'd say everything but Zelda has a good shot at being launch games, especially given that they're all coming from different teams.

Super Mario~ Nintendo EAD
Super Smash Bros~ HAL Laboratory
Mertoid Prime~ Retro Studios
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles~ Square Enix Division 2

I don't think FF:CC will make launch, I think it'll be one of the games that comes out a few months after that helps fill in the usual post-launch droughts.
