Elder Scrolls 360 > PC

Is there any justification for the 360 version being $10 more expensive than the PC version? If that is indeed the final pricing, it could be a trend that gets old real quick. Rising dev costs - sure, fine, but go and charge a different price per platform? That, imo, is fraudulent.

Not to single out this game. It just happens to be the one I want.

As far as I know, no prices have been announced at all.

The justification is that they think you will spend the extra 10 dollars.

And this is nothing new. This happens all the time.

Where have you been? Most every time it's multiplatform the PC version is the cheaper one. Most likely due to having to pay royalty fees for the console versions.

These are placeholder prices by EB at the moment. All the talk about next gen is rising game costs, but I think most publishers will get cold feet about the 60 dollar price point just like most PSP publishers got cold feet about the 50 dollar price point. There may be near 20 games available near launch. Do you want to be the non EA or non Activision game being the odd man out at 60 bucks?

Why would the game's developers have restrictions that the mod makers don't? And it wasn't just the textures that were ugly, the models and designs of most of the NPCs were butt ass ugly too.

Not only that but the animation was rather bad.

Yes, people seem to forget that no one is taking a cut of the money from the PC version.

PC games are generally cheaper, and go down in price much faster than console games. But the thing that pisses me off about PC games is major releases (as in id, Valve, and Blizzard games) are always $55-$60 just because they know people will pay more for it.

I understand it is common, but I would not pass this off as more of the same, given the context of rising game prices. It was not the case with Morrowind, if I recall, which is the most relevant comparison.

And regardless, your suggestion of royalty fees being the culprit would implicate said fees rather than dev costs as the reasoning for $60 games.

Steve says no prices have been announced and so I will not assume too much, and will hope for the best. I am very suspicious of $60 game prices, as one ought to be.

HereÂ’s to hoping that what Mrbob suggests will indeed become true.

More like developers just got cold feet for making PSP games period.

Most non-SCEA PSP games are $50.

Ugh... all this bitching. Bethesda could sell the game for $100 and I'd still buy it. If you want the cheaper version, pick up the PC one. It's quite simple and it has always been that way.

for the cost of that rig, you could get a x360 premium pack, Oblivian game, and a plasma to play it on.

x360 version wins :D

its worth to pay $4000 just to be able to play with mouse and keyboard

pc version wins

If you want to paypal me $100, I'll send you a copy as soon as the game's out ;)

being one who prefers PC gaming quite a bit over consoles, I never thought I'd say this, but all of the pro-PC trolls shitting on every xbox360 Oblivion thread they can get their hands on really need to shut the fuck up and move on now. We get it you can upgrade your already-existing pc and play oblivion just as well (most likely better by next year), congratulations now give it a rest
