Elon Musk vs Sam Altman

Grok response made me laugh

"skill issue" was also funny

I dont have an axe to grind here, but Altman at least is replying like an adult, instead of ... whathever this is

"You got 3M views on your bullshit post, you liar, far more than I've received on many of mine, despite me having 50 times your follower count!"

People fear AGI because they know who will train it and set the point value of it's morality system. Gonna be petty, panicked, vindictive and sour. No matter which of the AI companies gets there first.

Sam Altman is a con man but this is a pointless fight

Apple picked the wrong partner in OpenAI, Apple Intelligence is a bad joke, and it's easier to just let Apple fail on their own rather than start a dumb fight about it

The only guy I like of these people is Hasabis, but I don't like the idea of creators rolling out A.I. systems in general. They are too biased, there should be a clear seperation between who govern commercial AI and the developers of it.

Plenty of (often justified) hate for Elon out there, but not enough Altman hate. He's an obnoxious investor, not an AI researcher. I want him to stop making "wish I was Steve Jobs" videos and let the lead researchers/engineers have the floor. Ilya often gave remarkable interviews filled with insight, since he's an actual engineer... but I have zero interest in ever hearing anything that could ever come out of Altman's mouth or brain in his pointless lifetime.

did Altman get out from prison already? or he just posting inside while doing time?
in any case, I know where there is a volcano that we can dump both of them in. just saying.

Altman seems like an immensely dislikable character, so it makes me wonder if maybe there's something about Elon Musk that's discouraging people from downloading his Mecha Hitler app...

Since AI is such an increasingly huge part of our daily lives and only a handful of companies can deliver this service, they should be held to extremely high standards for impartiality/objectivity and this kind of thing should be severely punished with insanely high financial penalties for the company and possible prison time for those involved in the decision making and programing.

Isn't it possible this is all staged?

As a childish non-mature 40 something even at my pettiest I wouldn't do anything like this and I am REAL uneducated and socially dumb.

That, or most of the posts are fabricated and I cannot spot it.

I wouldn't think so. Other people here will probably know a lot more about this stuff than me. But Musk stepped away from OpenAI's board years back in part because of disagreement with their direction, he's taken legal action against them and has his own competing AI product.

Ultimately I was just hoping two billionaires would conduct themselves with some semblance of decorum...especially in an open social setting like this.
