Eminem raps about wanting to rape Iggy Azalea in leaked song

But sometimes the shit just seems, everybody only wants to discuss me
So this must mean I'm disgusting, but its just me I'm just obscene
Though I'm not the first king of controversy
I am the worst thing since Elvis Presley, to do Black Music so selfishly
and use it to get myself wealthy (Hey)
there's a concept that works
20 million other white rappers emerge
but no matter how many fish in the sea it'd be so empty without me

Rinse, repeat.

I'm not sure why people give him a pass because he's Eminem? Those 'jokes' were socially acceptable 'perhaps' in the late '90, but the world has changed. Joking about this, and making money off this is lame as hell, and it's even more awkward because Eminem is 42 years old. Joking about r*pe and trivializing it is disgusting.

This is the same guy who argued that he was not homophobic because 'he played the role of the character Slim Shady' and 'when he grew up, words like f*ggot and qu**r were used all the time'

Enough is enough. Eminem needs to see that the world changed, and that he, and his archaic ideas are a thing of the past. He should apologize.

Socially shun people who buy his record.

This is a brilliant onion-style parody of political correctness. Has to be. The asterisks make it hilarious.

It's kind of funny that back in the day, many of us used to like his music and all the fucked up things he said. We looked at all the old people getting mad and dismissed them. Now?

We're the old people. Old farts yelling about rap music.

I do quite like the fact he's still kicking around though. It's coming up to Christmas time and Grand Theft Auto's violence and Eminem's lyrics are in the news. It's taking me back years!
Heh, so true. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

He is old. Really fucking old and out of touch as shit.

wish these rapper grandads would either wise up and do some run the jewels type shit or just move on with the damn lives and let the young, actually interesting fresh stuff come through.

raping iggy azalea like really em? who gives a fuck about your cliche threats anymore, leave iggy alone work on your own shit.

Killer Mike and El-P are both 39. Age has nothing to do with it. Those two have never had the same content that Em has. Rap has sub-genre of styles and content. Em has always been the shock type. Cage and Necro have said much worse in their careers but nobody gives a shit because they aren't as popular. And that's not even getting into Horrorcore rappers like Bizarre (who this part of the verse was literally modeled after) and King Gordy.

When he was a nobody and could claim he was doing it for attention, I understood the motivation. Not now though. He could do a whole album about filing his nails at this point and it would sell a few million. This is just where his mind goes for whatever reason. I'm inclined to assume he's not a well adjusted person and likely never will be.

Of course he's not well adjusted. I seriously doubt most entertainers are. But this is just a case of him continuing to use the style he's most familiar with. Nas and Jay do the same thing.

smh @ people saying "oh... it's just Eminem, he always does this guiz!!!!"

let that have been T.I. or somebody

Bobby Shmurda's career would've ended mid-shmoney dance.

Styles matter. It's why people clown Drake for acting hard or why Rick Ross being a CO before he hit big was a thing. If El P had verses on the next RTJ album about being a gangster or Snoop put out music talking about how weed is evil people would call them out too.

His older material (SSLP and MMLP) was good social satire. His music use to be witty (with an actual message) like an episode of South Park. He would try to tackle different topics. He would mock parents for being hypocritical with how they raise their kids. He would talk about things like the Columbine school shootings or racism. He tackled serious social and political topics with dark humor in his lyrics.

His new material lacks that intelligent social satire. Now he's just trying to shock for the sake of shock.

What is witty or has a message in "As the World Turns?" A song on the Slim Shady LP where he talks about drugs, makes fun of fat women, and talks about being a rapist and a killer. Em has always had a myriad of material but the misogynistic stuff has always been there.

It's fine to hate his music or think badly of him for having that content. But don't try to paint a picture of the content having more purpose when he was younger. If he writes that stuff in a song, it's always been about shocking imagery.

He's got a daughter, dudes like 40 still rapping about raping, punching and killing women.

I gueas that's what the fanbase has always loved tho.

That's the thing. People got pissed at him on later albums for changing up his style and not being Eminem anymore, and now people are getting pissed for him doing old Eminem again.

I don't know what the right answer is, but the dude can't win.

Not the same people, at all.

This isn't uncommon though.
I mean look at SSLP and MMLP, was littered with this kind of thing. He was saying this when he was what, 28? It's hardly acceptable whatever age. I'm not arsed anyway, it's just shock value, always has been. I'm still a huge fan, one of the best to ever do it. Infact people have been saying he went all soft and shit, this is probably a middle finger.

Maybe we were wrong. Maybe Em lost.

I mean I haven't been impressed by Em in years, and the whole thing he does like this (I recall he did the same to Mariah Carey back in the 00s) is kind of weak.

So yeah, Em lost.

It's also worth quoting the full rhyme scheme leading into that section of the song.

Hate Versace, Versace, I got Münchhausen by proxy
I'm making you sick,
don't pretend you can't hear me
You deaf, girl, I said you was foxy
I'll tell a bitch like Bizarre
Bitch, shut the fuck up and get in my car
And suck my fucking dick while I take a shit
And I think with my dick so come blow my mind
And it tastes like humble pie

So swallow my pride, your lucky just to follow my ride
If I let you run alongside the Humvee
Unless you're Nicki, grab you by the wrist, let's ski
So what's it gon' be? Put that shit away Iggy
You gon' blow that rape whistle on me
(Scream!) I love it

He says it right in the lines before that he loves getting attention by making you sick of him. And in the bar immediately preceeding the "get in my car line" he tells you he's rapping like Bizarre, who is a member of D12 that does Horrorcore rap. He even starts that section off doing a vocal impersonation of Bizarre in the lines that I've underlined.

I don't really think this is an out for him...you can't hide behind a character or a persona in a song to say what you want and expect to get away from it without criticism.

Why does she even respond to everything someone says about her?

The Snoop Dogg ordeal was terrible and she shouldn't have responded in the way she did to that.

This definitely warrants a response though.

Iggy is in the public eye and now a role model for young girls.

From what I've heard from her music, her lyrics seem to empower woman and aren't some "i let him hit it cause he slang cocaine" bullshit.

Maybe I'm bias due to her being Aussie, but she seems to be a great Female role model in the hip-hop community.

The fact that Em is allowed in rap at all, a genre filled with supposedly African American entertainers, after what he put on tape about African American women shocks me to this day.

We all know hiphop has a low opinion of women, and especially brown women, in general, but what part of the game is this? A brown person saying the same about white women in Metal or country would have been blacklisted Immediately

She doesn't even write her own stuff, it's all ghostwritten.

It's not an out at all, in fact he's got other parts of the song that are along the same lines but it does provide context, which the articles and outrage lack.

The fact that those lines are even quoted implies that those lines are also about Iggy, when they're not. Only the line mentioning her name and the one immediately following it are about her. It's still bad but what I'm pointing out is these articles are looking to make people outraged which plays right into what he's going for.

Iggy is empowering in some ways, yes. But if you look into the lyrics in her whole discography, she's not what I would consider a positive role model.

Pretty much, he was young too...I guess we all assumed he would grow up as the rest of us did? Guess not...anyway, I don't really care much either way, I have old people things to do.

Its rap, its all shit. Over inflated egos mouthing off rapping about all the same shit. I dont know why. All the girls carrying on about their favourite rap artist that spends most of their time talking about slapping bitches etc, then are shocked when their rapper boyfriend beats them or treats them like shit. Female rappers just being bitchy and shaking their ass mm off the camera. The whole thing is a shit show.

It's pretty impressive people are still getting offended by him when he's been doing this stuff for years. Then people go on and wonder why he's still relevant while they continue to give him publicity.

You seem to be quite invested in a genre you obviously have a strong bias to.

If you don't like rap, why even comment on it? Why are you making such a generalization of a genre as HUGE as rap/hip-hop?

Yep, this is what he wants. That's the funniest thing about people that are offended by him.

Now I'm aware that he has a new album out. I didn't know that before this thread. I might get it.

AKA, which is the oldest black female sorority in the nation, gave an award to fucking JayZ. A notorious misogynist who tried to use an excuse of being clowned by women for being ugly, which he is, as a reason to put some of the more vile things about women on record.

Nothing is more devastating when sisters not only embrace, but accept, their place as second class citizens in society. "Black Greek organizations" are full of self hating individuals, but it is very disappointing when you realize these groups have historically been the strength, intellect, and big shots of the community. It is just shameful.

im bored of the old men threatening young women as entertainment trend and much more interested in the young women getting $ trend. zzzz

Great response..

And we get it Eminem... you're shocking and outrageous.. retire again already...

I'm not a fan

People missing context?

Whaaaaaaaat

The weird thing is he doesn't need to. I think he's a little off and he thinks it's funny. He's probably not going to rape or chainsaw anyone any time soon. Not while he still has a career, at least.

Ugh...ya think? It's hyperbole and it's used to convey angst. I mean, surely that's very obvious.

"Eminem has always done this!"

So it's a choice between your favourite rapper grasping at straws for attention or being stale and creatively exhausted and just going through the motions with one female artist substituted for another. Have fun choosing!

A guy who built his career by saying shocking and insane things takes a few years vacation, then comes back and says shocking and insane things and suddenly it's horrible and news.

There's a big difference between being unsurprised by the content and actually liking the music. As far as I can tell, most people in this thread aren't huge fans of the current Eminem, but that has no bearing whatsoever on the morality or shock value of his lyrics.

Nothing like fresh controversy a week before your new album drops.

How many times has this worked now? Diss the pop flavor of the moment, often in shocking over the top fashion, hoping they respond, which they always do. Instant publicity. And because it's Eminem Huff-po OP-eds on the history of misogyny in his music and his contribution to rape culture, or sexual assault activism groups calling for boycotts, will only fuel the media flames in a way that's ultimately favorable for him and his brands. Fucked up but no less remarkable.

The poster who said if Bobby Schmurda tried this he'd be done is spot on. Almost any other artist would wiped out of existence.

Eminem will continue to have a sustained career by my guess, while Iggy, without knowing much about her, has an uphill battle where we're exposed to a new female pop sensation every year quickly relegating last year's flavor to the back of our minds. I mean who was the girl that did the Skyfall song? I can't even remember her name. I just know she was replaced by Lorde the next year.

Is he stale and artistically exhausted? He's covered everything from voicing displeasure with Presidential actions, society scapegoating musicians, his personal demons, his relationship with his daughter, had varying approaches to heartbreak, dealing with the death of his friends over needless violence, and repairing his severely damaged relationship with his mother.

But because he still puts out shock value songs that are based in his original and most popular style mixed in with all that other stuff.. he must be out of ideas.

I said it before, it's fine to not like it or him due to his content. Just say that, rather than coming with weak critiques meant to be insulting.

I don't hate Eminem's music. I liked his older stuff. (Not so much his new stuff)

Let me show you an example of when Eminem's older music would brilliantly mix social commentary with dark humor.

From the song "Who Knew", he tackles multiple subjects head on.

So who's bringin' the guns in this country? (Hm?)
I couldn't sneak a plastic pellet gun through customs over in London
And last week, I seen a Schwarzenegger movie
Where he's shootin' all sorts of these motherfuckers with a Uzi
I sees three little kids, up in the front row,
Screamin' "Go" with their 17-year-old Uncle
I'm like, "Guidance, ain't they got the same moms and dads
Who got mad when I asked if they liked violence?"
And told me that my tape taught 'em to swear
What about the makeup you allow your 12 year old daughter to wear?
So tell me that your son doesn't know any cuss words
When his bus driver's screamin' at him, fuckin' him up worse

You want me to fix up lyrics while the President gets his dick sucked?

Get aware, wake up, get a sense of humor
Quit tryin' to censor music, this is for your kid's amusement
(The kids!) But don't blame me when lil' Eric jumps off of the terrace
You should of been watchin' him, apparently you ain't parents

Parents ask Eminem to be a better role model for children. So Eminem reminds these parents that the president of the United States (who should be a role model) is getting blowjobs in the white house.

Parents ask Eminem to stop with the violent lyrics. So Eminem questions why it's so easy to bring guns into the country. He questions why it's so easy for kids to get guns to shoot up schools. He questions why the same adults criticizing his lyrics are taking their children to see R-rated films.

Parents ask Eminem to stop swearing, but Eminem responds that children hear cuss words all of the time at school anyways.

Back then, he used dark humor and clever wordplay to provide social commentary.

It's something he doesn't do as much anymore. It's why his music has become boring.

Nowadays, he tries to do clever word play with songs like Rap God, but he has nothing interesting to say anymore.

Love rap music.. really dislike this aspect of it. Cringe worthy to read so many people point out that this woman might not have a lasting career, as if that makes a rap about raping her not repugnant.
