I don't care about the manliness aspect. I just find it funny that it found its place with a particular group of people. Truth is, I shouldn't talk. I sort of have that "look," against my own wishes maybe. I don't even know how it happened.

Yeah, dude... everyone does. It's a very Hipinion-ish thing to feel GUILTY for looking that way, though.

So, emo is slowly taking over the world. This depressive mix of bad lyrics, bad attitudes, bad haircuts and bad fashion are upon us. This emo culture is breeding and promoting self-mutilation and harm. How can we live side by side with these teenagers caught up in their own angst and self hate. How are we as a world supposed to survive this onslaught? The only thing you can do is keep your head up, you face smiling, your teeth clean and your mind happy. So please emo pull your head out of the depressed, dark, twisted room you live in and let us show you the light.

I don't understand how they don't fucking rip. I can't move around well in tight jeans, thus I tossed any tight jeans I had years and years ago. They feel so restrictive if I have to crouch, stretch, jump, or run which was kind of important when I used to skateboard.

Eh, it's not as bad as you might think. I don't wear insanely tight jeans, but I'm small so I like them to fit pretty snugly or else I'm swimming in them. I've never had a problem doing dorky gymnastic moves outside on the grass or jumping on a trampoline or even skateboarding with my jeans on. In fact, mine usually wear on the back pockets first just from sitting down :lol

Most girls' jeans now have a little bit of that stretchy material in them so that they can have a slim and flattering fit while not restricting your movement.

Don't forget hoodies, worn out obscure band t-shirts and pins/badges, trucker caps (although, that's for the more faux-scenester set), vintage Chuck Taylors, and random wrist bands.

there's nothing wrong with those. :( :(

My take on all this is, if it makes you happy and your not hurting anyone then what's the problem.....It's just a fad Im 24 and I look back at my style when I was 14-16 and it wasn't great either ( I thought it was then) it's been like and its gonna always be like that......

Girls, well... that's different. I certainly never had any objections to cute girls in tight jeans.

Toe still hurts? Slam your hand in the door, you won't feel it anymore.

Parents yelled at you? Yell at them! If that doesn't work, suckersmack one of 'em. That'll show them who's boss! Don't go write another fucking song about it!!!

Chalk me up with the emo-haters. The music is trite and boring- most of it has the same subject matter (oh, breakups, how sad) and depth as radio pop but its fans think it's soo underground and intelligent. The fashion is okay if it's cheap (from Goodwill and such) but it gets ridiculous when people go to vintage stores that charge out the ass for used clothes.

seriously. I really wonder about people who spend so much money to look so stupid. now I'm not saying I'm some super stud, but my style is just that - my style. I'm pretty sure no one else dresses like me (god forbid they did, poor souls) and I like it that way.

of course, I don't care if they want to spend their money on stupid things like that. Just like I spend money on my stupid things, they can spend their money on their stupid things. I'm just saying there's cheaper ways of doing it.

edit: 'there v. their' error

I don't have a "look", really. And the ingenius thing about that is no one else can copy me this way!

But yeah...I hate wearing tight jeans, despite the fact that I'm pretty skinny. They're too restrictive, and I like being able to stretch out. I'd much rather wear slightly baggy cargoes or khakis, actually.

oh yea we had a lot of these kids in highschool. Oh man we treated them like shit. I even had some friends that went emo... for the sake of bumming free weed off the other idiots :lol I personally couldn't stand them, always sad, depressed complaining about stupid shit like "my boss made me stock the damn vegetables again" NO SHIT! THAT'S YOUR FUCKING JOB! One of these guys even jumped in front of a school bus trying to kill himself. luckily the bus stopped right on time and his sad attempt to kill himself turned him into a laughingstock at school.

Most of them weren't bad people, really nice, but their appearence and smell was VERY revolting. You could literally smell one coming down the hall or something god how I hated those scortching hot days in physics. Some of the girls were very attractive without all the makeup/pins stuck in their face what a shame.
