Anyone had this done before? Im scheduled to have this done in a few weeks and want to hear other peoples experience with this or if it improved your situation.

why are you getting this surgery?

Chronic inflammation of my sinus. Had a CT scan done recently which revealed swollen turbinates, caused by inflammation of the area just above them. They will be removing the inflamed tissue and creating new airways from what I gather.

Had something similar done when I was younger. I still cant breathe properly through my nose, Its always half plugged up and half dry as a desert.

i have talked to quite a bit of people who had it done

Most people said it was no problem, 24 hours of discomfort for years/lifetime of better breathing.

I chickened out though, had it scheduled but cancelled because im a huge baby.

Almost passed out when they described stiching sticks to the inside of my nose :(.

But one of my friends had it done and was better within a few days

i've had it, along with four other sinus surgeries. of all the sinus surgeries, endoscopic is the way to go - i was out of the hospital the same afternoon and felt fine within a couple of days.

My son has had is done twice and within a few hours he's wanting to play video games.

If you are talking about deviated septum surgery most adults I know that have had it done felt like crap for a few days.

Had it done 3 times in 4 years. Nasal polyps , straightening cartilage, widening passages, you name it I've had it. Walk in the park. 2 weeks off work o/

Your'll be a bit light headed and bloody for a week, absolutely nothing to worry about.

Hasn't really improved my situation :/ but I think I'm a bit of a special case, I have really aggressive polyp groth

I should expand on my post. I reduced the turbines too, the surgery was fast, about 1h30 or so I think and the recovery was super easy and painless. Barely bled and had no pain, even with minimal medication. Slept one night in the hospital, came out next morning. No extreme heat, hot showers or physical strain for a while and you're golden.

I breathe a bit better, although sometimes the airways close a bit. I think I need to relearn how to breathe through my nose though. My sense of smell improved too. My throat was constantly inflamed before the surgery, now I'm all good.

My biggest problem problem (24/7 headaches for years) didn't go away though.

Was it with it?
I assume you mean worth it. Yeah it was, even if it didn't fix my headaches.

A friend corrected his deviated septum and it seemed like a tougher recovery by the way.
Edit: Oh and weird, alien objects will come out of your nose afterwards. Gross, but a huge physical relief.
